Just wondered if anyone could suggest any new names which could be called up for the friendly against Norway?
I think players such as Lee Miller,Mark Kerr,Shaun Maloney,Russell Anderson,Alan Archibald,Stephen Hughes,Tam McManus,Kris Boyd,Barry Nicholson,Charlie Miller,Kevin McNaughton,Darren Fletcher,Gavin Rae,Dave MacKay,Stephen Pearson and the like should be considered for the friendly to see how they can perform in international football. I would only expect a couple,if any, to be called up but it would be good to see some more of our talented youngsters being given a chance(as well as players like Charlie Miller and Archibald). I know the list is a bit long but they are just some suggestions of players who might be given a chance. I would also add that Jamie Smith should not be near the Scotland squad because he isnt good enough.

Agree with you about Jamie Smith, he's faded after a bright start to his Celtic career. I would like to see a Shaun Maloney and Steven Thompson strike pairing, with McCann putting crosses in as well. Don't really rate Tam McManus and Stephen Hughes is injured just now so he won't make it.

NO WAY PAL.............NO WAY...........thers been enough experimenting over the last 18 months!!!
lets see a settled team start to take root, get some consistency going.
We've lost our fifa rankings through pissin about to much, we need to get these rankings up as it will affect our ceedings in future qualifiers.

agree with wrighty to some extent..... dont want too much pissing about with the squad, especially with two such important games only two weeks later. However I would like to see one or two of the bright prospects called up. Fletcher and Kerr would definately be my choice.

Nah, according to CM4 Fletcher is only 19, excellent prospect, maybe a spell on loan somewhere would develop him even more(Ian McCall, u listening?).

BTW I wasnt saying Scotland should experiment with loads of new players, just thought of a list of possibles from which maybe 2 or 3 could be tried out.

But Miller is out after his hernia op and going by reports Crawford as a player short of confidence right now.

Crawford cretainly looked positive enough to me on Saturday. He was superb and got MOM in some sections of the media.
Maloney was good but looked a bit powderpuff when he had chances to shoot. The thing is, he'll go straight back into Celtic reserves once Hartson/Sutton come back.
From a Pars point of view, I'd like to add Scott Wilson to ArabWillie's list.

Gavin Rae came on against Germany and looked the part. I also thought he was man of the match in the Scottish Cup Final. I see he has scored a few pre-season and scored again on saturday.
Would happily see him start for Scotland alongside Cameron - don't care if its at the expense of "will he or won't we retire " Lambert or "will he or won't he be arsed" Ferguson.

Dont think this is the right time for bringing in new faces, think we need to keep a settled team up until we have qualified or got the playoffs out of the way.

I think the Norway game should be used to get the players that we are going to use against the Faroes and Germany together after the summer break.
I agree with a lot of the names in the post and if there are any players that are not available for this game then some of them deserve a chance, otherwise there will be plenty more chances at full and future level after we get these important games out the way.
