Opinionated Wind Bag

It's evolution...

we gotta get our arses kicked before we can learn to win...

the kids are learning fast that they can't let other players shoulder the responsibility - THEY have to get the ball - THEY have to make the runs and track back

A shocking game - but I think it is a good thing for Scotland - optimism huh? cannae beat it.

But, how long do we have to get our arses kicked for?

2 years? 5 years?

I've just come back from watching that excuse of a match and can safely say that it was one of the worst Scotland performances that I have ever seen. I can only pray that we were told to take it easy with them ie. dont make a single tackle!? I feel sorry for the poor buggers that have gone all that way to support them!

I think it would be better to be out there.  At least I wouldn't have to sit in this office surrounded by people laughing at me!

GET A LIFE!!!

A couple of months ago most of our team were unheard of so we can't really be shocked. A few of these guys will learn a lot from this from this, sprinkle in a few of our top players (Hutch, Lambo, ferguson, Naysmith) and we'll be okay.

I think this summer will help sort out who can take the strain and who cant amongst the youngsters.

Nae probs.

That was utter rubbish.  There were too many players who didn't looked bothered.

Players like Gemmill, Johnston, Dailly, Weir & Sullivan ought to be ashamed of themselves after that.  Bertie and the new boys were let down by these supposed experienced players.

I know we have injuries and players being rested etc... but if Dailly is seen on a Scotland team sheet after this tour then we will be missing many more parties in the coming years.

Never mind at least Bertie will be getting a clearer picture after Denmark in August, we can start to judge then.

What we can learn is that we have a long way to go, and if we think that we can continue with just the young boys, we can forget it big time. Fortunately we do have Burley, Ferguson, McCann and Hutchison. They will make so differece, but even then, we are crap, and Berti will know that.

Something to say

Now that after one game of our far east tour we are looking poor can anyone justify why we are playing in the Far East. Let me start of by saying I believed this before todays game. Why is the SFA wasting money flying a whole squad half way around the world to play opposition we are not going to face in the coming years.

Surely it would have made sense to stay in Europe and play some of the lesser European nations like we will be facing in the coming months. Why could they not have played Norway or Finland for example both Scandanvian and semi decent sides? At least they wouldn't have wasted so much money and that could have been put back into grass roots.

I know...mebbe I'm masochist...
Anyway I do believe Scotland can only improve, too many class players (Hutchinson and Ferguson to name two) have to come back before the start of the campaign in september.
Cheers

WELL SAID SWANNERS. WE SHOULD BE PLAYING THE TYPE OF OPPOSTION THAT WE ARE ABOUT TO BE FACING WHICH SURELY IS THE MOST IMPORTANT QUALIFYING CAMPAGAIN WE HAVE HAD IN ALOT OF YEARS.

I think it will be of some use because it will help highlight, as C Mc says, who can take the strain.  It will give Berti an idea if any of these fringe players will be battling for places or if he has unearthed any gems.

We lacked the basics of fitba............control and passing. The team lay that deep they were nearly in the stand. Our build up play was pedestrian.
The service and support to the front 2 was non existent.First 2 goals were avoidable(thought O Sullivan should have got the second)3rd goal was a stoater.

Never mind early days........we`ll need to learn quick though.

Totally right Swanners. It seems that the SFA want to give the players some bonus miles after season finish. Remember 96 when they flew to the US for preparing the Euro in E*****d. And hasn't been there a tournament in Japan some years ago?
