GET A LIFE!!!

Thought it was about time I gave you all an update on the progress of the Sunshine Appeal.
I have been away enjoying some blue skies for a couple of weeks and let me tell you it was a bloody nightmare seeing English hats, tops, shorts and any other guff they could lay their hands on...... but dont worry I didn't let the troops down every time I saw one of the offending articles approaching me had a sudden memory loss and forgot how to steer the buggy.... a right few sore ankles about watched them against Brazil with a brazil top on and next day paraded right down the main street with my World Championship t-shirt on (cheers BlackDouglas).... got a few strange looks but chances are they didnt have a clue what it was all about
Anyway back to the appeal.....
In my absence the various fundraisers have been doing a bomb and the following monies have now been received by the appeal fund
Ally Macabre and the TAMB t-shirts £1002.50
Scotty P Tartan Airforce Badges £78.50
Mick North Croy TAMB badges £196.00
Perth Tam World cup fantasy football £155.00
Ghaax Magoo'd t-shirts £530.50
The above is an absolutely magnificent effort by all who have organised the various fundraisers and also by everyone who has bought or donated to the appeal.
For those who havent as yet bought a Magoo'd t-shirt I am reliably informed that there will be some available for purchase in The Pandora before the Denmark game. I think there may also be a few TAMB and Tartan Airforce badges available that day also. As soon as Mick is back from sunning himself we are going to have more TAMB badges made so none of you should be without.
We still have to pay for a couple of batches of t-shirts but I am extremely confident that after paying for these and selling the rest of the merchandise as well as the sponsorship of the Pandora Bar for all games at Hampden as mentioned before we should quite comfortably have over £3000 in the appeal fund before the Faroes game.
I have arranged a meeting with the SFA in a couple of weeks time to inform them of our efforts and to see what help they can give us with regard to the logistics and also contacting the relevant authorities to ensure that every penny raised goes directly where we intended it to go when we have put our hands in our pockets.... i.e. every penny will go to the kiddies who are a little less fortunate than ourselves.
It is anticipated that the first Kiddies to benefit from all of our hard work and generosity will be those in Lithuania.
Again I would just like to say what a fantastic effort it has been by everyone and I know there are many more great ideas out there which we can start to think about after the Denmark game. it is my intention to have the collection bucket at every game from now on and so if you see it pass you by dont be shy chuck in whatever you can afford.
Thanks to you all from all the children throughout the world who dont yet know that your generosity will provide them with at least a ray of sunshine during your visits to their countries.

Jeez Ruary, yer bringing a wee tear tae ma eye.

It's good to hear that everyones efforts are continuing so well.

Got to thank all the TAMBers who have contibuted so much by buying 2 or 3 T-shirts, badges, songbooks, etc. and some of you still like to donate a wee extra.
But even if ye can't afford to shell oot £30-£40 on the whole shebang, if ye do see Ruary and his little helpers in the boozer, even a quid drapped in the bucket will be much appreciated.

As Ruary has said, I will be taking the remainder of the Magoo'd T-shirts through to the Danish game so take a spare tenner along if ye fancy one. We've more than covered the cost now so every one you buy puts £10 straight into the fund.
What more can ye ask for??

Ruary that is brilliant. I for one am glad that I have contributed to the fund, it may not be much, but as they say at Tesco "every little helps."

All of you who have contributed should be proud of youselves fo the effort you have put in.

Well done.

Wrighty. now there is an idea.

Wrighty a brilliant idea!!!!
What about the TAMB logo and web address shouldn't prove to be too difficult and we could just sell them at all the games for a wee donation.
As Ghaax says a quid in the bucket is very much appreciated and remember a quid goes a lot further in other countries.

marvellous.....although i'd make it compulsary that our resident pests er..guests kernie and cufc dig into their pockets a wee bit and contribute. after all, if it was'nt for the historical info and challenging debates they get on the board...the nurses would'nt let them stay up past 'lights out'!

I take it this is in addition to the money raised for Kemo -so it's a great effort. Nice to know we can all give a thought to others.

I can't remember what has been said about the Pandora's involvement (if any) in the appeal, but if it's going to benefit from a packed house every home game, could we not persuade them to donate a few pence a pint on match days to the appeal?

GG - I think they are giving a donation. I'm sure Ruary can confirm.

This is an amazing effort, especially since it's only been going for a few months. Just think how much will be in the bank by the time we go to Lithuania. Well done to everyone who organised something or donated.

Great to see that not only has the momentum continued for so long but has possibly even increased - excellent.

re car stickers - does that mean I'd need to buy a car now too ? -

Car stickers are a great idea - I could use it to get my own back on a b@stard in ma office!!

I have a Saltire sticker on the back of my motor.  One day I was walking up to it and there was a feckin St. Georges Cross sticker in its place.  I peeled it aff and the Saltire sticker was underneath.

Turned out I had been driving about for a couple of weeks with that on the back of ma car!  ***kers!!!  I still haven't got the guy who did it back - yet...

Nope Peter,

you could always just buy a few car stickers and stick them on every car you happen to come across South of the border (or North come to that)! I could always try it wi a few German ones as well. Bit like spreadin' the gospel (or vandalism come tae think of it)......
