A train fae Prague will take over 24 hours to Vilnius. The least number of changes is 1 but you have to go via Minsk and I'm pretty sure you need a visa to get into Belarus.
Check oot bahn.hafas.de for timetables but I think a flight fae London's the best option.

A few guys have sussed out that it can be done via the baltic states - through Sweden/Estonia ... It's likely to be 8 - 10 days of pure pi55ed bli55.

Me and a few others have been on to this for a couple of months and aren't getting much joy. You either get there quick and pay thru the nose or get it really cheap but spend three weeks getting there. Whats the problem with that?? I'm getting married no longer after the game and I think it would be best if I turned up...mibbae!

the sweden idea sounds promising. apparently you can get a ferry from there to vilnius.

If I hear anything, I'll stick it on the board.

Aw the best,

The ferry would go to Klapeida, about 5 hours by train from Vilnius (which is inland, near the Belorussian border), although I'm not too sure you can get there from Sweden (I know several ports in northern Germany offer this route, e.g. Kiel.

You can go direct from Sweden to Riga in Latvia, but there's only 1 direct train (dep 22.30, arr 05.30) between Riga and Vilnius, from what I can gather from the DB timetable.

I emailed Lituanian Holidays who said they are going to look at what sort of package they can put together.  Provided I hear back from them I will update teh board.

I have contacted a Lithuainian travel company who run charters from Sweden (ryanair to Sweden) and will post info when I get it but for the majority of supporters i think the best option is a Charter from Scotland.

The Berlarussians are getting arsey at the minute & it isnt guaranteeed that they will issue a transit visa on the spot. we werent allowed to guy tickets from Vilnius ticket office a little while ago because we didnt have transit visas - despite our protests , they wouldnt allow anyone tickets - even if we took full responsibility for ourselves.  between warsaw & Vilnius there are 2 x train routes & the non Belarus train takes twice as long as the Belarus one...............

Big Doug,

where were you getting £205 from aberdeen quoted.

The likes of SAS normally quote a fare to Copenhagen and then quote you for Baltic Air passes ie £75 each way on top of your notrmal fare.

Their normally pretty tight arsed and I'm sure they normally quote £200 odd even to get to Copenhagen so I'd be pretty surprised wth the quote you have
