Maybe the best way to find out the top TA town is to organise a census at the next two away games.I remember at the 1990 WC,the hands off Hibs campaigners were outside the ground in Genoa.
Getting the figures from the STC wouldnt give you an accurate result as many frequent travellers are not members of the club.

I think us east-coasters have a big following. I'am from outside Dundee(Carnoustie) and around the towns in Angus,Fife,Tayside and Perthshire. I see alot of scotland tops woren and alot of Scottish flags. it really is a tremoundous part to stay as i feel we have a very high porpotion of fans.. I'd have to say middle east coast scotland.
A agree wi you weekevie............... east-coasters ya bass.

aye, fight and you may die - run and you will live, for at least a while. And dying in your beds, many years from now, would you be willing, to trade all the days from this day to that for one chance, JUST ONE CHANCE TO COME BACK HERE AND TELL OUR ENEMIES THAT THEY MAY TAKE OUR LIVES, BUT THEYLL NEVER TAKE OUR FREEDOM!!!

Going to the other side of the scale - does everyone agree St Andrews has the least number of TA (and Kernie )?
Spent a year there and couldnt find anyone willing to watch the Scotland V San Marino game with me.Union showed the ENGLAND game! (cant remeber what one!)
Watched game in an Irish pub surrounded by Irish who were laughin at me!
Bearing in mind i am not actually living in Aberdeen anymore and am not just being randomly biased - my trips abroad make me think that a vast number of TA come from Aberdeen and Dundee.

IMO the Tartan Army is a description of supporters who go to games either home or away, although it is mostly used by the media to described the supporters who travel abroad. I also think the public at large identify the description with supporters who travel to away matches.
I wouldn't describe someone who is an armchair fan and never goes to games as Tartan Army.

I agree. I consider it an honour to be part of the TA, and I think that you have to show a commitment to go to games to be part of the TA.
For example, how many times did you hear people saying that they were a real fan and couldn't get a ticket for the last England game at Hampden ? The media jumped on that bandwagon as well (despite the fact STC got over 20,000 tickets). Really annoyed me, that one.
