Where is the top t.a. town in scotland per head per population that follow Scotland and what is the least ? Bonhill must be a candidate for the least as I think i am the only one although there is a few followers down in Alexandria. What is the tambers opinion?

Well Harry I think you are going to have a whole lot of people spouting forth that their town has more or even less then the the others.
On this board we have a sample of the TA not the whole by any means. I have heard folk from Aberdeen claim that they have the highest per capita of TA members, I am not sure if they include towns such as Inverurie or Peterhead or Fraserburgh in their figures or even Turrif I suppose the only way that question could be answered properly would be if the STC were to give membership figures relating to home addresses.

Ruary i agree with what you are saying but it should be interesting to what opinions we have from tambers and how much go to the games from their local areas as i know their is very little interest in Scotland from bonhill although up in Turriff it is totally different and there is alaso a wee bit of interesyt from dumbartobn and I know a good few ta lads fae Clydebank.

Here in Bicester we have a few TA, well two that I can vouch for and one of them is me. (No I am not both Ruary).
Anyway Doric, as I remember the last TA I saw travelling from Alexandria were the "Goldfinger" karaoke Gang after the Belgium game. Good night in the Staiton Hotel (or what ever it was called) and a good bunch of lads.

I remember it, or one much like it at Villa Park.

I only went to the Belgium game from Alexandria as a Welsh mate of mine lives there. I usually stay in town. But as I remember the train trip back was a good laugh

I have photos of said cutout!

Have to say I have never met so many genuine, top-notch tartan army soldiers since moving down south. Edinburgh was pash for getting together with other likeminded, but down here we huv a party every couple of days!!

My life would have been a misery if I hadn't met upwith everyone down here, so I nominate London as the best Tartan Army town...if only it wasn't so far away...

Caledonia is calling me, and now I'm going home

You could estimate from addresses lodged with the STC but lets remember that is not the entire Tartan Army......only those who have joined the Travel Club........there are many millions (well a few) out there who follow the fortunes of the National Team
Sometimes people get carried away and believe that TAMB is the Tartan Army........it's only a very small fraction.

I think us east-coasters have a big following. I'am from outside Dundee(Carnoustie) and around the towns in Angus,Fife,Tayside and Perthshire. I see alot of scotland tops woren and alot of Scottish flags.  it really is a tremoundous part to stay as i feel we have a very high porpotion of fans.. I'd have to say middle east coast scotland.

Ruary did recognise that the TAMB is not the Tartan Army, maybe you weren't directing that comment at him though. You are right in what you are saying though, that the Travel Club is not the entire Tartan Army either. Unless you define the Tartan Army as people who go to games, or even people who follow Scotland abroad, but I think most people would agree that it is anyone who has the desire and passion for Scotland to achieve.
