GET A LIFE!!!
Aberdeen planning officials have given the green light to the Dons controversial plan to build a new football stadium on green belt land at the west of city.
Their recommendation to councillors to approve the 30,000 seat international standard stadium and community sports complex, subject to conditions, has been welcomed by Aberdeen Football Club.
But the news will come as a blow to the thousands of local people in the nearby suburb of Kingswells and elsewhere who object to the plan.
The approval recommendation is contained in a forty-thousand word report on the stadium that will be considered by the council's planning committee next week.
But Scottish Executive ministers will have the final say on the outline planning proposal.
The £30m complex to replace the Dons existing Pittodrie stadium is also planned to be part of Scotland's joint bid with Ireland to host the Euro 2008 football championships.
