Stadium Planning Application.

AFC has submitted a planning application for a new stadium, with training facilities, soccer academy and state of the art sports & leisure complex at Bellfield.

If the planning application succeeds, we are on track for being one of the  host venues should the SFA's bid for Euro 2008 be successful. This is an ambitious project, but one which could seriously improve AFC's long-term future as well as bringing significant benefits to the people of the North-east.

With the challenges facing other Scottish clubs and us at this time, it is more important than ever that we are able to move the plans for the new stadium forward.

If you wish to support the application, please fill in your name and address on the template letter below, copy and paste it to afc@bwscotnet.com or download it and send to the Planning Department at Aberdeen City Council.

You can also help by completing our on-line survey, which can be accessed from the front page of the site, or by visiting the following link.

Ruary Ruary, just when we were getting on so well!!!

Where's that picture :switch off:

The way I posted was trying to keep club loyalties under wraps since we can't talk aboot them can we!!

Oops 'loyal'ties - shouldn't have mentioned that around you!

Since my trips to todders number less than double figures a season, I'm not as qualified as someone who travels every second week.

Saying that, will have a season ticket this year and at the moment don't have a problem moving to a new site - anything to get the noisy fans closer to the pitch would be good.

Well, as a real dandy I do not want to move from Pittodrie. Football clubs should be part of the community not located in some greenfield site on the periphery.

Kingswells is a pain to get to for many many fans. It is not on train route and I and many others certainly could not easily get there by public transport. If you drive there are still problems because many people will have to take awkward routes and back roads. Then there is the parking problem. Stuck in a car park for ages after the game, marvelous! Not to mention the lack of pubs in the area (not that that affects me ).

As far as I can see if there was the will Pittodrie could be redeveloped. However this option is glossed over and ruled out with no well reasoned explanation. There is a green field site sitting at Kingswells on which houses cannot be built and a prime site in the city centre just crying out for flats to be constructed on it. Go figure!!

Sorry Tam but we have to live with the stadium post 2008....

However they want this stadium regardless of 2008 and are using the tourney to exerhert some pressure on the authorities. Bit like Eire and their national stadium.
