I don't know about youse, but seeing Glasgow hoaching with Spaniards and Germans has really whetted my appetite for Euro 2008. But if we got it we would have this party atmosphere for much longer than a couple of days and there'd be people fae 15 different countries, including Scotland, it would be a non-stop carnival!

What I'm trying to say is, let's put all this pash with Jack Traitor and his cronies behind us and put the Tartan Army's full support behind the bid. The joint bid isnae perfect, but when is Scotland going to have an opportunity like this again?

And people want to come to Scotland. One Spanish newspaper: "Scotland Is paradise". Another: "Heaven is Scotland"

So, whit can we do to show are support?
When are the UEFA people next in Scotland?
Are new t'shirts being made up with the revised Scotland/Ireland design?

Let's show UEFA that Scotland(and Ireland) is the place for this prestigious tourament, the organisation of the Champions League Final certainly hasnae done any harm.

So are you with me???

Fresh ideas

Agree totally. The whole atmosphere around Glasgow yesterday was great, I've spent the week with Spanish friends and they have been really impressed. Even the TV back in Madrid is reporting that the people have had a great time in Glasgow and Scotland, better than any of the previous finals they've been to.

Hampden looked great last night and the atmosphere also. Shame the TV here couldn't show the opening ceremony with the Proclaimers which had the place rocking. The people of Scotland have shown to UEFA that we can be great hosts. Well done to all those involved with the organisation.

Happy birthday Real....

WW - I think you are on the right tracks with that.  What a great night for Scotland and what we'd give for many more like that.  I imagine the UEFA people will have been impressed.

The UEFA committee is now made up of a Swede, a Turk, a Norwegian, a Spaniard, an Englishman, a Dutchman, a Russian, a Cypriot, a German, a Malteser!?, a Swiss, a Frenchman, and guys from Luxembourg and Iceland.

Now looking at that committee and sayong how they would vote is not too easy but I believe the English are already onside so that's one down.  Apart from the Scandinavians and the Swiss I imagine the rest are up for grabs.  The Spaniard should be happy after yesterday.  We have a great rapport with the Dutch so that's a positive.  The French put  adverts in our papers so that's a positive and we let them beat us in a friendly - another important point.  The Maltese have very close links with the English with friendly games having been organised really on the back of voting.  We now have a real link with the Germans and Austria/Swiss are unlikely to be their first choice!. And the new guy from Iceland......well theres an excellent advertisement opportunity coming up in October.  The Russian.....................well he likes vodka so thats a start.  All lost -  methinks not.

Does any one know when any of the big UEFA people are coming? We could hold a wee rally or something to show them how enthusiastic we are about the bid.

Could not agree more, superbly organised event. Lets all get behind 2008. It could be the last chance we have to host a major event.
