A bizarre goal celebration has landed Scotland’s top woman football in the doghouse
International start Julie Fleeting upset supporters when she imitated man’s best friend and prete4nded to lift her leg on a corner flag
The 22 year old has been a hit with us side san diego spirit since she swapped Ayrshire for California earlier this year.
But fans in the stand at the recent match against New York Power were shocked when Julie got on all fours and pretended to wee over the flag.
The incident happened after she scored the equaliser in a 1-1 draw.
The spirits fans website has been swamped with messages hitting out at the Scot.
One fan said “Hopefully we wont get a repeat. Most of the parents in the audience (audience?!?!?!?) didn’t appreciate their daughters seeing their heroes doing something so low-brow (eh?!?)
Another fan said:@ “that’s got the be the stupidest thing ive ever seen” (deprived life then ???)
Julie who dates ross country g/k Colin Stewart is Scotland’s greatest women’s player having scored 60 goals in 62 international matches.

A friend said “she was only having a laugh and wont see what all the fuss is about”
Yesterday dad Jim said “I don’t know much about her goal celebrations, I never ask”

I wouldn't worry about the WUSA boards. They're in a pretty sorry state. It wasn't even mentioned in the post-game discussion at bigsoccer.com, so I don't think it's really causing much of a stir. The fans at bs.com were too busy worrying about why their 19yo phenom midfielder is sucking so badly. They don't care because they're football fans and not soccer mom looking for positive role models for their pre-teen daughters.
The great Digital Takawira did that after nearly every goal he scored in Major League Soccer in the US. No one minded, in fact they put it in an add campaign if I recall correctly.
