GET A LIFE!!!

There will be a few opportunities to get Litas to the two lithuanian young people who were presented with a duplicate cheque from the Sunshine Appeal.  Simona and Tomas are on an exchange visit to the UK and  arrive tomorrow.

It is possible they will be coming up to Glasgow or Edinburgh or both on Good Friday.  Alternatively someone may get down to see them in Cumbria before they leave the UK.

I thought it might also be a good idea to ask Sally Chambers of Lithuania Holidays if they would be able to exchange the currency.

I`m not sure how much we can expect Simona and Tomas to carry back home with them if its hunners of coins but we could certainly give them notes and coins of a decent value to take back to Lithuania.

I will also speak to people from the Lithuania Link Charity who are hosting Tomas and Simona and see what they suggest.

DOES  ANYONE KNOW of any organisations that would accept the lesser coins in exchange for sterling?  If so the remainder could go into the Sunshine Appeal Fund.

Will post more info asap.

Any other ideas most welcome!

Mazzy I thought that Lithuanian link had agreed to take all the spare change and small notes that were brought back from Lithuania. That was why we asked for people to collect the leftovers on the flights back home.
I am sure that Lithuania Link could keep the money and take it over as and when it was possible.

Will check this out with them again but now you remind me I do remember them saying they would take the whole lot.

Whether they have any idea how many bags of coins there will be I`m not sure.

OK whatever happens I will be back in Lithuania on business in the near future. If we can gather all the Litas collected and leftover then I will make sure that they are given to the home in Lenku. This was the most deserving cause IMO of all the homes we as the Sunshine Appeal supported.
