Just spoke with some friends from Rijeka (Croatia) and whole city is mental. Everyone is drunk, singing, crazy... I am sure it is more-less the same in Split, Zagreb, Osijek and other cities. If I get some photos, will try to put links.

Yes I also had a call from a Croat who said the same.  I am really pleased for them.  Was invited to go to Croatia to watch the game in the Second round if they go through. Would have loved to but I am skint.  Mon the Croats!!

The Croatia fans did their team proud. They sang their hearts out for the whole game.

Aye, ma Croatian neebor in Tribunj appears to be very drunk & dancing in the street.

I think the linesman was a Croat.

Well, for those two - no. Unfortunately.

But I can give you a web address of most popular female singer in Croatia - Severina @ severina.com - see photos, hear songs,... or write her!

Why that? Well, find her photo from the stadium HERE

BTW, her song 'Trava Zelena' from 3rd CD was very popular in football stadiums and and 'Djevojka Sa Sela' from 5th one was 'unofficial' song of Croatian team after they got back from France '98.

Quite good and funny photo from Japan here:

http://www.sportnet.hr/media9/0000000000197827.JPG

And it seems it was not so nice day in Melbourne:

'...Several hundred fans claimed the corner of Lygon and Grattan streets for about an hour as police redirected traffic.
Ugly scenes erupted as about 100 Italian fans chased three carloads of Croatia supporters, one car carrying a burning Italian flag.
Bottles were thrown at the cars and Italian fans yelled "Italia, Italia".
Police tried to escort cars trapped in Lygon St through a human barricade.
Flares were thrown, passers-by were abused and cars kicked as fans launched into anti-Croatian chants.
Police said there were no reports of injuries...'

Here in Italy, people are sick about this defeat.

If there exists a more arrogant press than the English one, then it's here in Italy.

They had themselves in the final and now they're not even sure to get through to round 2.

What a laugh

Come on Mexico!!!!!!!!

Rijeka, think thats near Opatija (excuse the spelling) I think, I went on holiday there in 1973 and my second time in Croatia in 2000 was in Zagreb of course, both bring back very fond memories.

makes our qualifying group look more like the group of death now.

Well done Croatia and thanks for the hospitality shown to us,you deserve to do well.

These Croatian fans are definitely enjoying their time in Japan. Too bad you can not read what they write in their message boards.

Anyway, some more photos:

With SCOTS in Kyoto!!!

A guy who predicted the result

A big guy and small Japanese ladies - funny!

Fans at the stadium, after the goal!

A nice Japanese lassie supports Croatia

With a nice Mexican lassie

cheers

Something to say

It helps when you have 13 men on your side - a bent yankee linesman and an incompetent English referee.

Forza Azzurri
