GET A LIFE!!!

Cannae believe that the Scottish Junior FA  have scheduled the first round of the junior cup directly against the Lithuania game!!!!!!

WTF is that about?

Well done Blackburn Juniors for acceding to Clydebank`s request and moving the kick off forward to Mid-day meaning fans can travel through to banjo country before going to Hampden.

Talks too much

Same as the Second Round of the Scottish Juvenile Cup, the Aberdeen Region anyway.  You cannot even have one of your four free dates for the season on that date.

Westa, as a comittee member of Blackburn United, can I therefore look forward to a visit to Murrayfield Park from your goodself?

BTW I don't own a banjo, although I wouldn't mind one.

My brother and a mate are involved with junior football and e-mailed the SFA  about this and they said it was nothing to do with them it was the SJFA.
Also it was meant to be the 4th but they moved it for the Rangers Celtic game.

I can assure you that the Junior Cup 1st Round has always been pencilled in for the 11th, it certainly wasn't moved from the 4th to avoid a clash with the OF game. The first round is always played on the second Saturday in October. The SJFA do not fit their schedule of games around anyone, they live in their own little world.

I worked on relief in the Royal Bank in Blackburn for a week. It's the only place I've ever been where the bank closes the shutters on the windaes at lunchtime, and when I told the rest of the staff where I'd parked ma car, they all shook their heids...
:brrrrscary:

Oh, and John Lambie used to come in paying in cash for his doo racing club.

Ah Rossy, the memories!!

Unfortunately (or actually fortunately), the shopping centre has been completely redeveloped, gone however is the Bank, we now have a cash machine instead, progress eh? but that happened before the redevelopment so I suppose they calculated it was cheaper to repair a cach machine after the daily attack by the neds than it was to run a bank.

You should come down for the game and re-live the happy memories

I'd love to Reeky !
To be honest, junior football was my first love, passed down through my old man who's still involved in the game.
Many a happy Saturday afternoon was spent at Lochgelly Albert, and then the game started.......noooo...I don't mean that. The Albert used to be good (honestly ! Dryborough cup winners in the early '70's), and they were my team until my early teens when senior football took over.
Whenever I'm back home, I always try to take in a few junior games, and all power to them...junior football is the traditional mainstay of Scottish football, and long may it remain so.
I just wish the Albert were better ....

Sorry RS,

Lubricating the vocal chords at the Shed rather than the delights of West Lothian........just praying that the cup tie gets postponed so that I can enjoy the delights of Blackburn as well as watching Scotland.

Thermo,

You know I`m irreplaceable.........

If there has ever been a more over rated area of Scottish football history than the juniors, I have yet to see it.
Mainstay of the game, pah!!!
The sooner they close down these geriatric drinking clubs clubs and let the hammer throwers and kick boxers who masquerade as footballers at this level form their own fight clubs the better.
Unbelievable that people from this board who I thought knew a thing or two about football should hold it in such high esteem.

Rossy, the Albert have been pash for as long as I can remember, although I think they beat us in a Fife&Lothians tie 6 or 7 years ago. Junior fitba is littered with big clubs from days gone by now struggling badly.

JCFC - You're a philistine, away back tae yer prawn sandwiches at Stamford Bridge

Joe,
I'll concede that the quality of junior football is now, well pish to be frank. However as a tradition it has alot to commend it and as a good afternoon out you'll not get much better for the price. I love the Junior Cup but unfortunately the mighty Larkhall Thistle have embarked on another of their getting put out in the first or second round runs which means I miss the opportunity to go to places like Lochgelly and Blackburn.

Fresh ideas

My amature team is supposed to be playing that day as well, all fitba should be cancelled that day. Look at the last game against the fharos, there was some division three game on that day I think. What chance do these wee teams have???

Fife clubs win the Scottish every 15 years. St Andrews in 1960, Glenrothes 1975, Hill o'Beath 1990.
Get your money on Kelty in 2005 ...it's a cert !!!

This coming from someone who is going to a concert instead of going to Perth to cheer on the under 21s.
So much for being Mr Scotland.

"The sooner they close down these geriatric drinking clubs clubs and let the hammer throwers and kick boxers who masquerade as footballers at this level form their own fight clubs the better."

For me this is nail-on-the-head regarding the state of Scottish football.

It would be very interesting to compare career injuries from typical players playing at this level in Scotland with equivalent players in Belgium/Holland/France etc. My guess is the Scottish ones have suffered on average three times as many concussions, twice as many broken bones and have lost twice as many teeth.

What chance do we have of nurturing football players when our entire amateur/junior football ranks are dominated by neanderthal psychopaths. The only thing going for us is the fact the SJFA play matches to clash with internationals - which cleverly cuts out all the hooligan element which otherwise might try to emulate some of Englands problems...
