Thought it was time for a bit of scare mongering so if we got Turkey in the play offs, what do you think the SFA's reaction would be?
Take the amount of tickets we should get by rights or go for a blanket ban on away fans travelling and then recommending that Scotland fans make no effort to go.
If they did this what would people's atttude be?
Take the advice and stay at home or try and sneak in?

Well it would help if people didn't adopt this type of scaremongering approach.

Totally agree. I hate to say it but I don't think I would go to Turkey. The risk factor is far too high. And that would piss me off as I'd be burstin to go to the play-off.
Anyway, Turkey shouldn't even be in the competition cos they' aren't even European!

Can't see any reason for scaremongering. I have attended a game at the infamous Galatasary stadium and did not see any trouble or hint of aggression from the fans (wish it was always the same in Scotland...where an atmosphere of hate prevails at many club games)
I believe the only groups of fans who have encountered problems there have been those who have been disrespectful towards the locals, their flag (Leeds) and their customs........I would be certain that our press would wish to heighten the fear and put many people off

i dont think there would be an awfull lot of TA go to turkey. the 2 leeds fans where not hooligans just in the wrong place at the wrong time and where murdered. wat if there was a majority of scottish hooligans that travelled and theTA where in the wrong place at the wrong time and the same thing happend with us that happend with leeds?
stay at home if it does ever happen.

I was at Gala earlier this year in my kilt, and had no problems at all. I was even ushered to the front of the queue at the turnstiles.
Although, a young Irishman was ALLEGEDLY gang-raped in the street whilst attending the Euro 2000 play-off out there...

but how does going in small numbers i.e family holiday compare with a large number for a football game.
Turkey has a bad reputation but we have good reputation & think this could maybe work in our favour as to a trouble-free game.
Not condemning the murder of the 2 Leeds boys but there is nothing to suggest they werent hooligans they might have been wrong place wrong time but at same time you seen images on tv of clashes so they could have been involved. For leeds v Galatassaray there was people looking for fight & got one & regretted it.
At same time though did The Rangers V Galatassaray game not go without trouble apart from wee thing at airport saying welcome to Hell.
