If Darren Fletcher plays tonight in the U21 gane is that enough to tie him to Scotland for good or does he need to play in a competetive U21 game?

He's from Dalkeith but his mum's from County Mayo and the Devils Spawn is trying to persuade him to play for the Republic.He says in the paper this morning that's he's told him to beat it cos it wouldnae "feel right" playing for anyone but Scotland.Dinnae think we've got anything to worry about with this one.....fingers crossed.

He's also eligible to play for the Republic.
Whilst I don't doubt that he is 100% committed to Scotland, I'm just nervous there is a chance that a player who seems to have the potential to be one of the best we have ever produced could slip through our fingers.

Thanks guys - I don't tend to read the papers in the morning as they just upset me when they print crap like Traynor's article of yesterday. Anyway, I always know that if there's a story worth reading, it'll get posted on here 
I'm sure the management are aware of Darren's situation and will make sure that he gets a cap in a competitive game asap. Iceland, presumably?

Darren looks a real prospect, He's only 18 and he's got a squad number at Manchester United which is a great achievement. I Dunno if he's played for the first team but here he's a first class in the reserves and only a matter of time before he makes the big team, good to hear he's up for playing for scotland,.

I cant see Fletcher doing a Houghton (he was a good player we missed out on!!)
'Fletch' would need to play in the under 21 game against Iceland to be tied to us
I have a feeling he may keep his options open though!
