Fresh ideas |
Scotlands bid to host Euro 2008 was doomed the day the arsea concerned decided to revamp our national dump.If they had listened to the fans and built a new stadium in Perth and added Inverness then they could have sold Scotland as Scotland.Too much emphasis was put on Glasgow. How many other bids had three stadia in one city?We must have been a laughing stock.Effin loodicruss........

I don't quite see what you're getting at. Do you think we should left one of Hampden, Ibrox and Celtic Park out of the bid? Surely that'd be madness. Stadia were gonnae be built in Aberdeen and Dundee, and we'd have two in Edinburgh and two(?) in Ireland so why Perth and Inverness? Considering the populations of Perth and Inverness, it'd be unlikely they'd ever be used again, look how many people go to see St.Johnstone and Caley Thistle.

I think you missed the point WW. The decision to redevelop Hampden was taken years before the decision to bid for 2008, the point is that this decision has in the end hampered rather than helped the bid.
Should Hampden have been redeveloped at all? in my opinion no, in fact I wouldn't have built any new stadium, Murrayfield is a state of the art stadium that is barely used, but its not in Glasgow......
