Has anyone considered setting up an Email petition or a web based petition (use the address as an email signature) to encourage the GAA to open up Croke Park for the 2008 bid.
Alternatively if anyone knows of an ongoing petition id love to hear about it

The term "foriegn sports " is not used in the GAA's rule 42. This phrase is used by people simply to protrait the GAA as a backward organisation totally opposed to non-Irish games.
Here is the exact wording of Rule 42:--Uses of Propetrty:
(a)All property including grounds, Club Houses, Halls, Dressing Rooms and Handball Alleys owned or controlled by units of the Association shall be used only for the purpose of or in connection with the playing of the games controlled by the Association, and for such other purposes not in conflict with the Aims and Objectives of the Association, that may be sanctioned from time to time by the Central Council.
(b)Grounds controlled by Association units shall not be used or be permitted to be used, for Horse Racing , Greyhound Racing, or for Field Games other than those sanctioned by Central Council.
Now there is nothing illegal about that .

Has naebody telt the GAA that football isnae English??
Or do they also refrain from drinking tea as that is "associated" with being English???
This bid is being attributed to a Celtic nations bid - surely that is worth their backing?
And it would appear that Croke Park would stage the opening game if they relented - huge advertising and prestige for the GAA and their ground.

just a wee thought ok its in their constitution but also a lot of social clubs had it in their constitution that wimmin wurny allowed in certain parts and they were deemed illeagal,imsure a good lawyer wid tie them up in knots.
the fact is they should be embracing 2008 for the good it will bring their/our countries
