Sometimes I cannae beleive what I read in some messages. Just recently I've read that people can't stand the,
2008 logo
the Irish colours
the AND bit in ScotlAND Ireland
The old Jack McConnel chestnut
We'll no win, what's the point
We cannae dae it
It's too West coast bias
This could be the greatest thing ever for Scottish football, let us all give it our best shot, let Europe know that the TA wanted it and done their very best.
Let's all wear the T-shirt, fly the banners and shout about it. You never know, if we win the bid, then we might even enjoy it!!!!

I agree, stop being negative start being 110% positive.

If you don't think we should have went for it then tuff we have.  Just get behind the bid and show once again to the rest of the world why we are continuously voted the best fans around

Exactly, the amount of people that I have spoken to and have just dismissed the idea is just unbelievable, they still think that Scotland is just too wee a country so cannae do anything like this. Apart from the obvious short term benefits, this tournament would give a huge boost to Scottish football, it could be a turning point.

Bravo Wee John! Well said!

Why someone goes to watch his team playing if he doesn't hope they can score and win!? There are several bids and Scotland/Ireland is one of two best! What more is needed?

So, back the bid or otherwise don't say a word!

Lets put it another way, just think, 2 years worth of away friendlies in weird and wonderful places without the stress of having to qualify

And a very valid point Reeky!

Imagine..... France v Portugal on yer doorstep.....
..........Spain v Italy a short bus ride away..........
........Netherlands v Germany 45mins along the motorway.

Mair parties wi' the Czechs, Croats, Bosnians ( @ Mirza), Poles....................whoever.

Thousands o' blonde Scandanavian babes in the pubs 'n' clubs................

.................ah, bring it on!!!

Something to say

Reeky,

Why would all our pre-2008 games be away? Every other host over the last 10 years have played all their friendlies at home......in fact I think nae away games for two years is the only possible negative impact WHEN we win 2008.

WHEN we win the bid I would like to see as many home games as possible in the lead up to the tournament, to try and bring  back some of the supporters that have gone missing over the years and to encourage those who have never been yet.

I don't think I can bear the suspense until December. This could be the best party Scotland and Ireland have ever seen - and it'll be free (apart from the tickets) to attend.

Can't understand why anyone is being negative about it.

Westa, I didn't say that we would play ALL our friendlies away from home, I intimated that our away friendlies for a 2 year period would be stress free without the need to qualify, and I would hardly think that every game during that period would be at home either, are you saying that Sweden/England/Holland and Belgium NEVER played away from home in the 2 year build-up to their Tournaments? hmmmm....remain to be convinced on that one.

Reeky,

Might be difficult to get meaningful away games in Europe when all the other countries are trying to qualify.....join the TA.....see the World!

Tam, thats the same as saying that it will be difficult to get meaningful HOME friendlies as well! We have to play someone, so why not away?

I'm sure this is just a bit of "Doom and Gloom" seeping through and we will have our fair share of trips as usual.

...or maybe we'll go into hibernation for 2 years?

And why do they have to be European games? South America, Africa, Asia. I've heard that they play football in all of these places.
