GET A LIFE!!!

The keystone cops 2008 campaign goes on. All coalition partners are against building new stadia in the manifestos. Wonder what the New Labour spin will be on this?

Aye, it might be a coalition, but at least Berties Bowl is still a possibility.

Bring it on.

Looks like they've got the majority, so as far as I know there will be no coalition, great news.

Something to say

Counting still ongoing - looks like FF are going to wind up 1 or 2 seats short of a majority (still the best election result they have had since 1977). I think Stadium Irelnad will happen -  all FF have to do is buy off a couple of independents, which they have proved adept at in the past.

Oh, what treats do we have in store next? Do certain planets have to align? See the headlines now - "Tartan Army in yoghic flying campaign to win 2008". We may have to wait for recounts before we can really say if our bid is on - what an edifying spectacle that is.

You never know, there may be a referendum yet?

Dunno what the current seats are but aparently Berti just needed 84 to get overall control, latest suggestion are that he will be a couple of seats short.

A few of the 6 idependants are pro-berti, and that is the latests suggestion.

Word on the pavy is that Berti's bowl will get the go ahead.

this does not affect the bid document in any way as the bid document has been at the printer for the last couple of weeks. 7 Scotish stadiums named and 3 Irish.
Document did not have to be that specific to name the actual stadia.

Looking forward to May 31.
Then all the speculation will be over and all the talk will be about wether we have a good enough bid to beat the Swiss/Austrian bid.
the direct competition will hopefully get more scots to back it.

forget McConnell (well till the election anyway) and back the SFA.

Don't worry about the Irish, they will deliver what they say.

Sonny why so negative about having the 2008 Europen Championship finals here?

Macpele,
"Don't worry about the Irish, they will deliver what they say."

That'll be a first. The Irish political machine is far more clever than anything the UK has to offer. They are big boys when it comes to politics and they can string along our Executive just as easily as our Executive can string along us.

Facts are independently minded but it's easy to loose sight of them. Don't confuse healthy scepticism with negativity just because the New Labour spin would make you dizzy. Old Saying time: "If you listen tae their lying, oh they'll con yae intae dying."

Personally, I would have joined the bid circus had the bid been a solo one. It just made so much more sense in every way!

Nothing makes me dizzy...

I only have a strong desire to see Scotland have an opportunity to entertain the rest of Europe. Being part of what happened in Glasgow this week has made this stronger. We can make a great tournament together with the aid of Dublin hosting one of the sections.
