Okay lads, the ball is rolling again.
ATAC are intending to push hard on the Irish from now until May.
Is there a demand for a new 2008 T-shirt?
The first one for the solo bid went down a storm, will a new design also go down well?
We are looking for design ideas and a overall view of your thinking on a new T-shirt.
All your thoughts please.

Any proposals for a design can be e-mailed to

A poll will soon be up and running on whether we should go for a new shirt.

Fresh ideas |
I think a new t-shirt design is a great idea as is a new name for the joint bid. We should continue to support the joint bid as we did for the solo. It can still be the best thing to happen in these shores and the joint bid has a real good chance of winning. Can't believe there can be any of us who don't want this party here in 2008.
Look forward to seeing some of the new designs, could be interesting!!

I think we should have the slogan
"McConnell shat on the dream!
...still, there's always a joint bid..."
Sorry for the negativity, but it's difficult to raise any enthusiasm now. If it comes off I will be delighted - but my hopes and dreams revolved around a solo bid. We've seriously reduced our chances of winning, and told the whole world we're a diddy wee nation with no ambition...
Jack McConnell, I will never forget how you kicked the Tartan Army in the teeth, and underlined the fact that we will only ever be a "diddy wee nation" for as long as we are prepared to hide under the butchers apron.

i too feel it hard to be positive about the bid, i has become so embroiled in bad politics that many people have many people in scotland just read about it in their daily rag and move onto the next page. in many peoples eyes it's yesterdays news and with practically no publicity you have to ask yourself - what are we trying to achieve with this bid?
i get the impression that the irish have been bullied into accepting the bid, it should have been forgotten about when mcconnelll shat out the solo bid. i will support the joint bid and hope in succeeds - as if!!
I think the bid should be named "ANYBODY ELSE WANTING 2008?"

Have to admit that my enthusiasm for the joint bid is approximately zero......is there any point wasting money on it when the Austria/Switzerland bid looks pretty slick and are overwhelming favourites?
OK, so Portugal weren't hot favourites for 2004, but I doubt it will be the same this time around.
The bid should be dumped and everything concentrated on making a fresh bid for 2012

After everything has died down and I've had a chance to think about it - I'm in favour of the joint bid but I've no enthusiasm left to support it.
If the bid wins and we actually get to co-host the tournament then I will pull out all the stops and embrace it with 100% unreserved delight. But I'm not getting my hopes up again just for Jack McConnell and Co. to kick me in the teeth a second time.
You can all sail this boat without me until then...

Similar to the last few posts,
The enthusiasm has now gone. IMO we've gone from having about a 30% chance of success with a solo bid to a 1% chance with a ridiculous joint bid. It's difficult to enthusiastically support something that has no chance of success!
I would love to be proved wrong and we got 3/4 of Euro2008 in Scotland... I would also love to be locked in a hotel room with a couple of supermodels for a weekend - much more likely!!!

Yes it has been a kick in the teeth for us all, and it is hard to get up and going again, but we have to keep going and if it does all go tits up again at least we can say we gave our all.
"The TA wanted it but the traitors let us down".
At least we will be able to say that.
What do you think would happen if the Irish fans could get excited about it?
Maybe that lack of excitement on their part is putting us all off also.
