If yer on about Houston, Texas go to Richmond (Avenue?) or Westheimer (Drive?) towards the city centre. Theres a good pub called Sams Boat on Richmond which has a few more pubs in walking distance. The Richmond Arms is one of them and has about 200 different beers on draught, including McEwans. Watch out though because most other waterholes are well spread out and the taxi drivers don't know where they're going. Best to get a local to drive you around.

My hotel is right next to the Galleria which I believe is close to Richmond Avenue. I will give it a shot.

If you're there at the weekend, grab a taxi (about $15)and head up to Rice Village. Half a dozen or so pubs within walking distance and the crown is relatively young. There's also a Scottish pub (The Kelvin Arms), but it's usually pretty dead.
One tip, whatever you do, always carry ID. A lot places ID you, regardless how old you look.
