yogi1 Fresh ideas	I have recently been getting a dial up box appearing and connecting automatically on start up. Any ideas how to stop it would be appreciated , also could it be connected to slow connections.

geordieboy GET A LIFE!!!	download a program called ad-aware from http://www.download.com Sounds like you may have some spyware on your pc. Do you have kazaa or anything like it on your pc? ----- 14? She told me she was 15!

yogi1 Fresh ideas	T A Ealing , dial up is ok the problem is a dial up box is appearing on start up of pc which is unwanted.its only been happening for a couple of weeks. Geordieboy , do not have kazaa or anything similar. Downloaded ad-aware and quarantined some stuff? but box is still appearing. Thanx for trying.

are you using windows? when the dial up box appears look at the tab along the bottom of the screen (i.e the internet expolrer tab at the bottom that says "tartan army messag..." when you look at this page).

The dial up box tab may have an icon next to it. That icon should correspond to whatever application is trying toaccess the internet.

Also - do you have zone alarm?

it is a good software firewall that will only let the progs you want access the internet.
