8 of us from Aberdeen flying out on Sun morning and staying Sun and Monday night.

There is a good bar on Dam Square called "The Majestyk"  if it is a fine day we can all sit outside as well there.  Perhaps be a good place to meet up as it's fine and central and easy to find.

Aye Tom, 5 of us on the 0920 Easyjet on the Sunday. Staying in the BOotel Sun and Mon nights, train to Dortmund on the Tues morning (0755) and flying home from Cologne on the Friday morning.

Re. meeting places, the Dam Square will be a magnet. From what I know of Amsterdam, head straight out the Central train station, head towards the Dam Square then onwards and anticlockwise around the half circle route and you come to another square with an Irish pub and a few pavement bar type places........

forget dam square, theres not really much in the way of nightlife there, best bet is to head up to rembrandt square packed with bars & nightclubs & mainly frequented by locals.

Shamblessshhhshhhhh

Just checked the wee map and I'm pretty sure Rembrandt Square (Rembrandtplein) is the square I was talking about earlier. Halfway around the half circle route - big Irish pub (obviously), pavement bars and I remember going into one Disco Disco Disco after deciding against a few others (knock backsshhhsshhh)

Reason for my initial question was we were thinking about heading for Dortmund on the Monday but am now happy to stay in Amsterdam for a 2nd night as there will be fun and games in Disneyland (for adults).
