Sly Si,
are you running the book on this one?
Having seen Campbeltown demolish PTA 6 weeks ago, I think I might have a flutter on them at odds of 5-1.
Cheers,
Tam

20/1 is a bit harsh for one of last years semi-finalists! Especially when you're quoting WESTA at 8/1...
We were 1-0 up against EASTA in the semi for quite a while as well. Must have been about midway second half they eventually went 2-1 up, and it was only an injury time goal which gave them the "comfortable" 3-1 final score...
Typical f*ckin central belt bias if you ask me.

Oi! With your finishing McT I'm not sure you could score in these wee goals anyway!!! But we're still a better bet than WESTA! Tenner says we take them in the group game...
Oh aye, and the other two teams are William Wallace TA and Kirkcaldy TA.
Group A: WWTA, WESTA, PTA, NOSTA, KTA, EASTA
Group B: CTA, LOBTA, ETA, LA, HTA
Previous Winners HTA(1999,2000), EASTA(2001), PTA(2002)

Not ringers at all, well maybe just a wee bit ringerish.
Anyway, we can't make it, but maybe, just maybe, NOSTA will now be able to enter the big tournament for 11-a-sides, and I might manage to get a game in Aberdeen.

Soon as you and Rogue get the applications in...
Had a practice game of fives last night and can confirm I'm mince and unfit, but we've got some good players to make up for it. And a secret weapon - a real goalkeeper!

pp - I'm not a real keeper!
I've got to play outfield this year...
So yes, the lack of fitness and extra two stone will be a bit of handicap for me. Not to mention the complete lack of ability...

PTA have just been stripped of the STC Fair Play cup in the biggest TA scandal since a certain recent AWAY Trip.
Aparently they used 11 players, when the tournament rules state there were only 10 players allowed.
Looks like your run of good luck, winning on penalties 2 years on the trot just ran out Joker!!!!!!

Checked with Jim Black before the tourney started if we could put in 11 names as long as we only used 10 in any match. It was given the green light.
Anyway, we have the trophy, and yer no getting it back until next June, even then, only fur the day.

Fresh ideas |
Personally, I think it's shocking that PTA had one extra player.
OK, you only had 10 players for each match - but you had one more "fresh" player than the rest of the teams.
Don't think that PTA should be acknoledged as the winners, even if they do keep the cup.
I also heard WESTA had 11 team members turn up, but their one extra player didn't get changed into WESTA stips and even played for one of the other clubs who were short on members.

it's no our fault some o the teams couldn't raise a full squad. Whats wrong with the manager and his assistant pulling on the strip in support.
At the end of the day it was 7 aside on the pitch, and we triumphed, nae excuses.
There were plenty o teams worthy of winning it,wouldn't here a peep if one of them one.
