The Hebrides Bar Edinburgh Tartan Army
Are yet again proud to host our Annual Christmas Dinner Dance in conjunction with Tartan Army Message Board Sunshine Appeal, on Sunday 21st December 2003.
I know its only August and some of us haven’t even had our summer hols yet but we had to book early to reserve our place. And it gives us plenty time to ask for Monday 22nd off!
The venue, as last year, is the Apex International Hotel, 31/35 Grassmarket, Edinburgh. Those of you, who attended, I am sure will agree it was superb.
The Format for the Evening will be as last year, pre dinner drinks at 6.30pm, with full Christmas Dinner (and a half bottle of wine per person!), being served at 7.30 prompt. The full menu can be seen on page 6 of the Christmas 2003 Christmas Brochure, which can be viewed and downloaded on the APEX website at http://www.apexhotels.co.uk/
Dress code is basically up to you, but last year everyone made a great effort and most wore kilts and frocks and that was just the Fellas! But definitely not jeans and trainers!
A couple of changes to last year, in that we have a bigger raffle, with the following secured as the 4 Star prizes –
Match day mascot for child aged between 8 and 12 for Scotland’s first home game of next year, including 4 match tickets for the Family, and photographs with the team.
This prize has kindly been donated by the SFA.
4 VIP Weekend passes, including hospitality, to T in the Park, July 2004.
This prize has kindly been donated by Tennents.
2 nights dinner bed breakfast, for 2 people at the Dundee City Quay Hotel and Spa to be taken between 26th Dec and 29th March 2004.
This prize has kindly been donated by Apex Hotels.
£200 worth of Safeway shopping vouchers.

Raffle tickets will be pre printed and pre sold, so if anyone wants to help with selling raffle tickets at home/work please let me know and I will send you some books out. They will be available sometime in October. All help will be appreciated. All proceeds of the raffle will go directly to the Sunshine Appeal.

Following the main raffle draw, there will be an auction of some famous sports goodies.
And then… the fabulous Andy Chung and his Band will entertain us for the 1st half of the Dance, followed by Disco til 1am.
Don’t forget folks that Edinburgh is open until 5am at Christmas time so I hope to secure entry to a local nightclub for those who wish to carry on into the wee small hours, as last year!!!!
How to Book --
Email me at mgtstirling@hotmail.com and send a £10 deposit, (or full amount if you wish) per person, to secure your place. Numbers are limited to a maximum of 170. Seats will be on a first come, first served basis as it was last year. Could you please also enclose a post-dated cheque for the balance of £20 per person, and date it for either 1st or the 15th of November, which ever suits. Please make cheques payable to - Hebrides Bar Edinburgh Tartan Army. I intend to bank all deposit cheques on the 1st and 15th of September 2003, so you may date your cheques for either of these dates. (Saves me going to the bank every day!)
If you don't have my home address for sending cheques to, message me and I'll send it to you!
I will have a list running on this thread, Which I will update accordingly, as and when I receive bookings.
There is also a special room rate in the hotel, for a twin room which has double beds, of only £55 per room (squeeze 4 in a room only £13.75 per person!!!)
To book the hotel rooms please contact the hotel directly and state its for the Christmas Party night rates and all they require is a credit / debit card number as security for the room and you just pay on arrival.

The Saturday is getting booked up and we got a discount on the price per person ( should be £39 a head).
A lot of folk are on their Christmas hols at that time of year anyway, so will be off on the Monday , and if you are working on the Monday, then at least now you have plenty time to request it off!
With this type of thing i know we cant please all of the people all of the time, but as i say at least there is plenty time to organise the day off.

Thanks Fiona, unfortunately I have little enough holidays at the moment as it is, especially if we get tae Portugal where I'll be begging some unpaid leave I think (my holiday year runs July-June), so I'll need to give it a miss, but have a good one
