It's been suggested that we get a large flag made up with all the chooses that I have. (check the scotspotting threads to see what I mean if you don't know). If there is enough interest I will investiate size/cost of this venture. The intention that we can get sponsors (tamber's, ta clubs,etc) for the individual chooses. TA groups could get their name put on for a small fee. choose NOSTA, for example.
What I need to know...
1) Flag choice. Saltire, Lion Rampant, or maybe a navy shirt shaped item, or whatever?
2) Size. Big enough to fit in the words, a certain size, or a big mother of a flag so folks go ...
3) Cost of sponsorship. £5 per choose? 100 donors gives us £500 to work with...I'm open to discussion on this. Maybe £10 for a club?
4) Monies. All profits after the cost of the flag has been paid to be donated to the Sunshine Appeal.
5) Any other thoughts please fire away...

Since it was me who suggested it originally, I obviously think it's a great idea (modesty is a great virtue!). As to the individual questions, my thoughts are as follows:
1. Not a Lion Rampant as it would be too hard to fit the words round it. Saltire would probably be best since the SFA have the big shirt thing. I guess "Choose Scotland" could be in huge letters across the middle with all the other chooses in the blue bits on the flag?
2. A big mother of a flag. Words can be reasonably big on it?
3. £5 per choose for an individual would be fine, I would think. How about more like £25 for a club, though? Maybe it could just be "donations over £5" or something so that folk can give what they want?
4. Absolutely
How about corporate sponsorship? Choose Safeway, Choose Irn Bru, Choose IKEA (for pear cider)?!?!

We won't be allocating the chooses just yet, just investigating the possibilities at the moment...corporate sounds good, but they will still be the same size as the rest of the writing (and a bit dearer?)...the donations over idea is good...the final list of contributors could be put on the Sunshine Appeal Website for prosperity once its launched?...maybe it could be done in time for the September matches?...

I think the idea is a fine one, and as a seamstress I would be delighted to make the flag up in my little sweat shop. Consider my labour to be Halt Bar's contribution to the overall cost.(We will of course have a whip round amongst our own little bunch.) So lets pull all the details for this one together quickly, collect the money for materials and see if we can get it together for the Germany trip.

Now we need to decide on a size & shape, probably be easiest just to have a massive saltire, I'll investigate the size with the barmy flag folk, the've done a few big `uns.
I would be quite happy to list the chooses and allocate them when the time comes. Maybe Tartan Sheep would like to be `Treasurer` for the funds? I wouldn't mind them being kept totally separate from myself.
So we`ll make the charges a minimum of £25 for a TA group/club and £5 minimum for an individual. I suppose associated companies (The Heb, Pandoras, Irn Bru, etc) would also be the minimum of £25. All donors will be listed on the forthcoming Sunshine Appeal website and maybe in a home programme (anyone got contacts on this subject?).
Once we have the costs worked out, etc, I will start another thread for the donations.

As I know Olde Hitchie Voodoo and I know that she is more than capable of making this flag, why dont we liaise with Janice and see what kind of costs she can come up with for Materials etc.. I am pretty sure that they will be a lot less than any flag manufacturer.
