I really can`t understand why anyone would want to come on here if they love the English team so much i have always been grateful to be accepted on here even though i`m unfortunately English but for many years have supported the Scotland National team from choice and yes i feel much pleasure when England don`t do as well as people here expect and i`m the first to admit it`s a childish feeling at the end of the day but saying that GOD IT`S GOOD!!!! Everyone is entitled to their own opinion i spose but i for one don`t much care how England are getting on i go out here wearing my shirt with pride and ignore the sarky remarks i get from my fellow counrypeople.

i for one don`t much care how England are getting on
Everyone's entitled to their opinion but it helps if you don't hold two which contradict each other.

Sorry Kernaghan!!!! i think i worded that badly what i meant to say was although i wouldn`t go out of my way to check on how England were doing in any game they played you just can`t get away from it it`s always one of the main topics on the news or in the papers here and although i`m not particularly concerned with how they do i feel a tad smug when they lose or play badly in the same way i feel proud when we play well and feel even better when we win. If this doesn`t make sense either then please just ignore me think i`m gettin a bit senile

You CAN'T reason with most TA on this, you CAN'T have a logical argument, you CAN'T appeal to their better half. Way I see it, they hate us, we (well me) hate them and let's all enjoy that. We know where we stand. Plus, they lose a damn sight more often than we do so we alsways come out in credit. I've been fleecing my Scottish workmates for years, a few choice comments, give it the old stereotypical "arrogant Englishmen" act and they agree to any bet. Needless to say the beers are on them most weekends post qualifying games.
No harm in it, I have best friends who are Scots, and although I'm sure many on the board will think "what a cnut" at least I'm honest. I rip it out of friends who are Scots but that's as far as it goes, i don't go around stabbing them. It will be a sad day in a sad world when you can't hate your oldest rivals (I use that term loosely, never really been rivals have they?) and enjoy seeing them lose! "Schadenfreunde" is the word isn't it? I would hate to see the situation evolve where we all support each other, so corny and fake. You always find that with fake football fans, patronising and cheesy.

I don't want them to support England, heavens no. I just tire of them saying 'England's results don't matter to me', then turning around and giein it laidly as soon as England lose.
