P v S     X

aye, fight and you may die - run and you will live, for at least a while. Ā And dying in your beds, many years from now, would you be willing, to trade all the days from this day to that for one chance, JUST ONE CHANCE TO COME BACK HERE AND TELL OUR ENEMIES THAT THEY MAY TAKE OUR LIVES, BUT THEYLL NEVER TAKE OUR FREEDOM!!!

Fresh ideas

Scotland's possible playoff opponents:

1 Slovenia

- We could beat these guys. They've peaked and although they'd still be strong, there isn't anything to fear

2 Norway/Denmark

I'd prefer to face Norway. Norway are stuck with their long ball automated game. Denmark have a bit more flair and usually beat Scotland.

3 Czech/Holland

I'd prefer we avoided both of these countries. I can't see the current Scotland beating either of them.

4 Latvia

This would be a home win, with a very nervy away leg. I think Scotland would fancy this draw.

6. Greece

yeah, that win in Spain is a bit chilling. Greek club football always seems to outdo their club performances. Their clubs do ok in Europe but the national side always flatter to decieve. But they could be on the up. I hope we avoid them.

7 England

I think England would be too strong, too experienced, for this current Scotland side. Our learning curve is still quite rounded at the moment and most of the better English players are experienced, around their peak. We could maybe win one game - if we had alot of luck - but ultimately, sorry to say, I think we'd lose.

8 Bulgaria/Croatia

Both sides are in a transitional phase. It would be a tough draw, but better than some of the other teams we could get. I'd prefer Bulgaria, rather than Croatia.

9 Wales

Yeah, we'd have a chance in a UK derby, but like England, Wales are about to peak for their generation of footballers. Scotland are still highly vulnerable and inexperienced. Plus Wales owe us a couple for past grievances. We might draw the home leg but lose in Wales.

10 Switzerland/Russia

Russia are hugely overrated and Switzerland aren't any great shakes either. Wouldn't mind either team, but would prefer the Swiss, despite Basle's great season.

Cheers

KTAF

Opinionated Wind Bag

GP, I dont see your Welsh lads having any trouble qualifying now, I dont think anyone meant it as cheek, I think that if you beleive that you are going to finish second, you hope that the in Play Offs you are not playing a World Football Power as Italy have been in the past.
Wales are an excellent side and I would love to see them Qualify first, because I'm sure that if there are more than one UK side in the Play offs, you can guarntee that UEFA will have them face each other and that would be crap for all concerned.

I'm not so sure that qualifying is a foregone conclusion I'm afraid A78 it's just annoynig not to see the Italians name there

We're Welsh and have to be pessimistic when it comes to qualification - we'll probably lose out on goal difference and then face Spain in the play-offs

Don't talk to me about that egg-chasing

I hate rugby with a vengance, and to see their excuse for a team suffering such a misrble season was second only to our glorious run in the qualifiers so far.

Wales are crap - good up front - midfield okay but the defence is punk. Serbia will beat them home and away despite their poor result last week - and Italy will do them - Wales wont win the group and i wouldnt worry a toss about playin them. Remember the penalty that i won
