GET A LIFE!!!

Ive just wathced one of the most pulsating games of football Ive seen for ages.

Both teams really up for it, passion, skill, pace and determination all evident in abundance. SOme world class touches by both teams, very difficult to pick out a bad performance from either side.

The atmosphere in the stadium looked terrific and all of the media and commentators got right behind their team, nothing negative or cynical at all. Even one or two bright hopes for the future.

I really hope we dont draw eng.land or turkey in the play offs.

Just dinny agree with you.  Only watched the 2nd half because im scottish, but it wasnt good fare by any strech of the imagination.  And the atmosphere was fueled by hate.

only saw the 2nd half myself .

PB I think youre in danger of looking small-minded, stupid and childish by denying that it was a good game and that the atmosphere looked tremendous.

What i think bothers you (and you really should rise above it) is that the performance Englnad gave tonight is exactly the type of performance we have been crying out for for years from a Scotland team.

Hurts doesn't it ? Still true though - grown ups think so anyway.

DOubtless there will be riots in SUnderland tonight mind - thats unforgivable, but i reckon the majority of mackems and geordies who were at that game tonight did themselves proud.

got to agree with TT

whether it was the pictures, or the stadium or the atmosphere, it looked a much better game
and certainly a lot more goalscoring chances were created

I recon the majority, in fact all of the fans that appeared on tv, were out of order, singing stand up if you hate turkey, hardly a 'mature' stance after all the trouble between the teams.  England were poor to me, except that.  If you think they played well then fine.  I personally think they didnt.  Turkey were terrible, really terrible, lacking the keep ball still their under 21's showed so well last night, but dont accuse me of being narrow minded or blinkered because im not one who follows the flock on most issues.

I only saw the second half as well. And for 45 mins it had everything. Great attacking play, great shooting, great saves, and a pish result.
So it had only one thing in common with the Scotland game............

Something to say

PB

I missed the Iceland equaliser at Hampden as I refuse to "Stand up if you hate England" my girl coming from down South as does my mates wife, my mate sitting next to me.  But so many in front were gleefully on their feet.

While I wish them no sucess on the sporting field I certainly don't hate them.  Far too strong a word IMHO.

TT never seen the game myself but my (annoying) southern pal took great delight in telling me how good they looked.  The git.

Just an opinion.

Am glad you didnt, i dont.   However 2 wrongs dont makea right and all that.   Also scotland do have a genuine reason to 'hate' the english regime.   I see no reason for this bile from the e nglish fans, seems to me it was done to stir up more trouble.

Broon,
I believe the song is "Stand up if you hate England" not "Stand up if you hate English People". Isn't there a difference? I think there is. If you were say a Celtic fan could you not sing "Stand up if you hate Rangers" for fear of it meaning you actually hate every single Rangers fan personally. I think you might be taking this too far. It's only a daft wee song about football rivalry. Do you see marauding groups of yobs charging round Scottish cities of a normal Saturday night singing Stand up if you hate England. No, of course not, because it's not political and in most ways its not even Nationalistic. It's just football. If I'm at a FOOTBALL match and the said chant goes up I'm going to make the really risky assumption that I'm singing about the England National football team, which I DO hate, with a passion.  I don't take that to mean I hate every living English soul in existance.
That would be silly would it not?
