I noted Berti's comments in the national press at the weekend asking for the Tartan Army to be the 12th man against Iceland during the crucial Euro 2004 qualifying match. He is asking the fans to be there in numbers, fill the stadium, get the hampden roar back. All these comments are great and i do feel that the stadium should be full, the roar should be there, the fans should get behind the team involved in our National Game. I would like nothing more than to be at the game cheering on the lads but this is not possible because i am playing football at 2.30pm on Saturday.
I have asked the SFA on three seperate occassions to cancel all matches affilliated to them to be cancelled which would allow thousands more people to go and support the team at home games on a Saturday.
Has this subject ever been brought up with the SFA before?

GET A LIFE!!! |
Agree, Twice this season I've been dropped due to missing games to go away and watch Scotland (that and the fact I'm getting on ).
8 of our team going this week so we've had to ask for a free week.

Getting on a bit myself and this wont be a problem in 2-3 years time.
I asked last night at training if the kick off can be brought forward to 1pm to allow us to watch it on the telly and was told this is not possible. Aaarghhh !!!!

Something to say |
i agree i was playing on saturday for my club and had to miss watching the game... all amateur games should be cancelled when scotland are playing competitive matches (which are only really about 4 times a year - and sometimes not even on a saturday afternoon) at home...surely it gives all players in scotland something to aspire to. Does this fixture time and playing amateur games mean that football fans can't be players and players can't be fans...
something needs to change.
