Just in case there is any interest I followed up Reekys lead about the flight from Gatwick on the sunday returning following saturday, priced at 237.00.
The price is now up to 280.00 plus 37.00 airport tax.

Aye missed the bus again Reeky but it isnt too bad. Got a quite good deal with Lithuanian Holidays so at least Im going and everythings organised. Now all I need to do is stay sober enough on the saturday to find my way to Gatwick on the sunday.

We're on the flights fi' Gatwick goin' oot Sunday an' returning Saturday.
However we booked through Opodo and got a package from Edinburgh for £300.
Just gottae get from Heathrow tae Gatwick!! (They do gie ye o'er 4 hours tae dae it though.)
Extra £20 for flights fi Edinburgh - no' too bad! 
Dinnae leave 'til aboot 10.30 so time tae get o'er the hangover as well! 
Right - whaes up for a bevvy in Vilnius oan the Sunday night???

Good deal you managed there Ghaax. Was on the web for about a week getting nowhere fast so when the Lithuanian holidays package came up at a decent price I jumped at it.
Going to be quite a few starting the party early in Vilnius on the sunday. Definately up for that bevy.

Was in the same situation BJ - missed the Helsinki flights 'cos we couldnae get oor fingers oot an' agree when tae go!
Just by chance I tried Opodo (never used them before) and found that deal.
Nuther one of oor group who is going on a shorter trip also got booked through them.
But considering the standard of accomodation they're supplying, the Lithuanian Holiday deals actually work oot quite good IMO.
Anyway - we dinnae arrive until quite late on the Sunday so you find the boozer an' we come find ye's.

Im hopefully going to book the same flight as yourself the morn. We were planning on staying in Vilnius on the sun & fri night but staying in Kaunas for the other nights!

We huvnae booked anything yet but it was mentioned just staying in Kaunas for the Wednesday night.
However, with 6 nights we may well decide tae go tae Kaunas for longer. Unlikely we'll get it sorted before the weekend though.
I just thought it would be easier booking a hotel in Vilnius right through and leaving most of oor stuff there - just taking as little as possible for the day/night of the game.
But that plan will nae doobt change by tomorrow!
Let us know what ye decide -
although there will be plenty TA in both places.

Checked oot your Opodo site from here Ghaax as a' didny fancy payin' over 1000Euro tae fly direct wi Lufthansa! Seem's there's a few options tae fly either wi Czech airlines (cheapest - between Euro 460 & 480) wi a stopoff in Prague for a couple of hrs. Or, can go via Vienna, Warsaw and direct as mentioned wi Lithuanian airlines & the money grabbin' German firm! I'm thinkin' of doin the same as yourself and goin' for the week wi the Prague option, so the biers in Vilnius are lookin' good for Sunday afternoon/night?

Booked the flights on Opodo the day and had a look at the offers they had on hotels. For 2 nights in Vilnius then 3 in Kaunas then 1 back in Vilnius it was going to cost £110 and they were 4 star hotels which cany be bad!!
Had a look at the buses fae Heathrow to Gatwick, they are every half hour, take 70mins and are £20 return so hopefully the flight fae Edinburgh winae be delayed to much cause i presume it'l be a 2hr check in to Vilnius

That's no' too bad for the hotels Kerrso.
Huvnae found anything (decent) under £100 and 4 star hotels for £110 - sounds OK.
£20 for a bus trip roond London though!!!! No' shy are they?
How many of you are there? Could be up for hiring a people carrier (4 of us). Even if it doesnae save that much money it's a lot easier - we could book it in advance.
Shouldnae matter aboot delays though - we've booked right through with airline partners so it'll be OK to check in late - after all they know we're coming, we're coming, we're coming ...........

There r 2 of us travelling, had a look a couple o website for taxi's and i found 1 http://www.london-transfers.co.uk and they were £64. As you say less hassle then sitting on a crappy bus.
Tried to book the hotel but the wifey emailed me back and said its to far ahead to book!!

Tickets arrived yesterday, i just hope i mind where i leave them!! Its always the last place that you look anyway!!!!!!!!
Booked the hotels yesterday thru Opodo, works out about £110 with current exchange rate. 2 nights in Vilnius then 3 in Kaunas then 1 back in Vilnius, both 4 star and the 1 in Vilnius has a nightclub so no that far to stagger home!!!!
