GET A LIFE!!!

Speaking of flights - I just discovered a major f*cking problem with mine.   I am booked on as one of the "Andrew Wright x7" (Andrew also being known around these parts as "The Colonel".

Anyway, these guys all booked Ryanair flights and I went to get on the same ones as them from Prestwick (10:00) to Stansted (14:20) to Stockholm Skavsta on the Sunday.

I just went to check if the return flights are up and noticed that my outward flights were wrong.   When I was going back and forth checking prices the Ryanair website must have kept all the flight details EXCEPT the month!!   And I now have a ticket to fly to Stockholm on 30 Sep 02!!!     A snip at £110.   Even though the flight I actually need is less than half that price they just charged me another £15 to change the reservation and no refund.    My fault you might say.

The only reason I mention all this here (except to make myself feel better with a wee rant) is that I know at least 7 people who think they are booked on a 14:20 flight to Sweden on 30 March next year BUT there is no such flight.   The Ryanair woman confirmed to me that there is only a 13:10 afternoon flight on the winter timetable so I think there may be more people who have hit the same computer glitch as me.   If this turns out to be a problem caused by their computers rather than my own stupidity then I'll not be chuffed, to say the least.   Being stupid I can cope with (I have no choice) but being ripped off for over £100 is a different matter.

Anyone else who thinks they are flying out with Ryanair that afternoon might be well advised to have a wee double check of their flight details.

And there's a pint for anyone who turns out to have been as stupid as me!!

I'll see you all on the bus!!!!!

I've booked my flights back from Vaasteras, 15:50 which gets us back quicker to London.

I was just about to mention the same warning as above, I was booking an extra flight out for the Sunday, and noticed that the FR54 had now changed it's time from 14:20 to 13:10 AND THERE WAS NO OPTION OF AN EARLY FLIGHT ON THE SUNDAY MORNING TO SKAVSTA.

If Ryanair have made a change then they should be contacting everybody concerned.

Just a wee note on Ryanair,

I once encountered this problem when i booked a flight in the summer to fly in the winter to Dublin from Prestwick and when i arrived at the Airport was told there was no such flight, it was 'summer timetable only'.

Not chuffed with this (by the way i was already checked onto a later flight atuomatically by Ryanair) i spoke to their customer service lassie at the airport and she told me it was MY responsibility, as laid out in the terms and conditions, to check flight numbers and departure times 72 hrs prior to departure!

I have copied and pasted the relevant section of terms and conditions from the ryanair website, that she told me, covered this. (below, its the last 2 line paragraph!) so don't hold out for an email to let you know the times have been changed.

posted for your info. Cheers John.

Important: Please Read

Standard opening of check-in desks is 2 hours prior to scheduled departure.

Check-in Deadline: strictly 30 mins. prior to scheduled departure. We reserve the right to cancel your reservation and to deny you boarding without refund if you do not comply with the Check-in Deadline.

You should be at the boarding gate at least 30 mins. prior to departure.

All monies paid are Non-Refundable.

Reservations are valid for travel for one year from date of purchase. Route changes are not permitted on any reservation.

Flight dates and times are changeable up to 3 hours prior to scheduled departure (subject to availability & reservation centres opening hours) but only upon payment of a change fee of £Stg15/€25 (or local currency equivalent) per flight sector and per person, plus, you will be charged the difference in price between the original fare paid and the lowest available fare for the new booking at the time. If the available fare is lower on the new flight, no refund will be made.

Names of passengers may be changed up to 3 hrs prior to scheduled departure (subject to reservation centres opening hours) but only upon payment of a change fee of £Stg15.00//€25 (or local currency equivalent) per person. In addition, if there is a difference between the original fare paid and the current fare available at the time the change is made, the customer will be liable for the increase in fare. The same passenger name must be used for all flights within a booking.

If flights are cancelled and no suitable alternative flight is available, we will, upon application, fully refund all monies paid in respect of the cancelled flight, on application, without further liability. Ryanair does not provide meal vouchers or hotel accommodation at any time.

Passengers who book well in advance should reconfirm their outward/return flights between 24 hours and 72 hours prior to departure.

Yep, I've been discovering more and more $hit and hearing more and more horror stories about Ryanair for the last couple of days now.   I can't help feeling that a few of us are going to be turned over here one way or another.    Should have booked BA - it is still only £46 each way with them out of Heathrow!!!!

Of course, Ryanair don't do transfers and now we only have 2 hours between arriving at Stansted and leaving for Sweden.   Will be tight for anyone with the cheek to try and bring any baggage along!!   Stansted baggage handling service is not renowned for its speed!!!

Had the same problem as you, Fella.

Flew to Dublin at the beginning of April and were told when we checked in at Edinburgh to check times for our return flight when we got to Dublin. The girl on the Ryanair desk in Dublin was less than useless so I eventually had to check their website.

Worst thing about it was they automatically booked us on another flight - 6 hours earlier!
Instead of flying at a repectable 3.00pm, allowing us to get rid o' oor hangovers, we had to get to the airport by 8am.
Not a problem as we were staying in Dublin but if we had been travelling around we might not haver been able to get there in time.

If these useless b******s are going to change your flight times they should be obliged to tell you.
Doesnae matter how cheap they are - they still have a duty to give a decent standard of service.

Oh aye, the baggage handlers also whipped the wife's expensive perfume oot o' her bag, just tae rub it in!!!

There is a separate link on their webpage to look up timetables only.   All flights that are running appear on there even if they're full and not appearing in the sales bit.   Check it out to make sure.

Something to say

I have just phoned Ryanair and they said they have just updated their flight schedule so the FR 54 flight at 1420 from STN to Skavsta is now the 1310 flight, anyone booked on the 1420 will be informed by e-mail of the flight change but the timetable only changed last week so they said they have not had time to inform all customers yet. They also said that the early morning flight from Prestwick at 1000 on the Sunday may be subject to change as well so keep an eye out on the website. Another small problem is that the earliest train from GLasgow to Prestwick on a Sunday is at 0900 and arrives at 0945 which is no use for a 1000 flight, does anyone know anything about buses to Prestwick?

BBC I have changed my identity on this board but you can still contact me at the same e-mail address.

Just phoned, and after bloke number 1 hung up on me, wifie confirmed there is no 1935 flight on the 29th March; last one if the 1830; which we (me and Arlo) were automatically changed to.

Checked the flights out, phoned Ryanair and bloke 2 confirmed  there is now no 0710 flight to Skavsta on the 30th, first one is 1310.

We are now on the 10 am flight on the Sun morning, then getting the 1310 - no extra charge which is awfy nice of them.

Phone number to change details is 0870 3331251.

I just recieved an e-mail from them confirming that my brother's flight has been chenaged but no confirmation of my own flight. It seems like everybody will end up obn the same flight regardless of when they intended on leaving.

It's a football special!!!

Do they not realise what a monster they are creating?!   This flight will be jumping.   They'll have to jettison the baggage to allow for the extra weight of the carry-oots!!

As far as I know (a friend from Prestwick was visiting me this weekend) there is no way to get from Glasgow to Prestwick at that time on a Sunday morning.   I vote for a Saturday night trip down there and a session in the Club de Mar in Ayr!!!

BBC should be able to get to Prestwick ok but as were all on the same flights yipeee!! would it be worth trying to organise a bus from the airport into Stockholm? if the airports as far away as the one ryanair use in paris it could save us all a couple of quid!

just about to phone ryanair to try and sort out my flights
