This is probably a dumb question, but I'm still waiting for STC membership and was wondering when tickets for Iceland are expected to go on sale to members? I don't want to miss out.

Something to say |
Isn't there another issue here given that we can only expect 700 tickets from the Icelandic FA and there is going to be a lot more people going than tickets available. I think it is extremely optimistic to expect a ticket just because you are a member and I can see them introducing qualifying criteria like Prague. Sadly, I would think that as a new member you have little or no chance or am I being unduly pessimistic, just for a change?

Cheer for the info, chaps. It does seem like the allocation is not going to be nearly enough. At least I can prepare now for not getting into the ground.
Plenty of time out there to drown my sorrows, I suppose.

Ticket or not, the flight's paid for, so I'll be there. Saying that, I definitaley think there will be a ballot if the Icelandic FA stick to the 10 per cent rule.

Maybe there'll be saunas with TV's, as a consolation for fans without tickets?

Oh, that sounds like a laugh TAE
Like you, I've paid for my flight on the Heb Bar charter so I'll be there with or withoot a ticket - actually, given some of the performances by the team, compared to the fun had before and after the game, no' getting a ticket might be the better option

Found out something interesting last night. I checked the STC rules, and they say that tickets will be issued on "first come, first served basis, or as otherwise determined by the international Committee"
I know the word ballot has been banded about, but I can't think when it has been used. It's normally some kind of qualification process. I would like to think it'll be anybody who went to all the 2002 qualifiers and so on.....

Yeah, although I'm new to the STC and would love a ticket for the game, I'd be pretty peed off if I had been to all previous qualifiers and couldn't get in coz of someone like me.
As long as one of you lucky buggers buys me a pint!!!!!

I too never got a ticket for Prague, but got in anyway,
think it will be a ballot for the tickets but they might give priority for those going to Faroes too, we'll just have to wait & see.

Think the SFA should ask for evidence of travel arrangements.
Possibly the best way to go about the problem, would be for folk to apply for the tickets normally, but have to pick them up in each city, o production of your STC card.

Many people can't afford to goto two expensive places in the space of a month - time and money!
