The heb group are all staying there, that should go down well with all the crusty birdwatchers who didn't realise there was a game on.

Plenty of blue tits once you see how far up the hill the hostel is....bloody miles away!

Still it does have the advantage of being next door to the brewery.

Maybe John at the Heb can arrange another bus to get the troops up the hill and home.

Does anyone really know which island the game will be played on?  Faroes travel agent seems to think that the game will be played at the new stadium that is being built on a neighbouring island to Torshavn!!

Called STC today and they didn't know either...

When we spoke with our Lassie on the Faroes who organised the extra buses and ferries she told us that the Faroes FA had not decided which stadium would be used. She did say however that they would be happy to arrange buses for us if its not the one in Torshavn.

I will look into this one nearer the time or when we know which stadium they are using.

The new stadium is in Torshavn. The old stadium is on the same island as the airport. The last couple of games you would have had to take a ferry from Torshavn (drunk dry both times!). They've built a tunnel now that links the islands so either way you're not talking much of a journey. The Faroese folk are very friendly and will probably jump at the chance of giving us lifts!

Is that right Helly?
I must've been more drunk than I thought because I was sure they were on different islands. Just goes to show the perils of too much drink when you're not used to it.

Airport is on Vagar Island. Torshavn is on Streymoy island and old stadium is on Eysturoy Island. Why would they want to play in the old stadium? New stadium at Torshavn looks ok.

The info I got from the tourist board included a map of Torshaven, on which they had marked the location of our hotel and the stadium. Can't see why they would build a new ground and play it elsewhere. I got the same story from a local firm that the FA have not decided where to play it, but I think that was purely because she was trying to fob me off with accommodation on another island.

Let's be sensible here, that is like spending £6 million rennovating Hampden then playing a game 200 miles away in Aberdeen.

Don't know if this is still "news" but SFA website and article in paper yesterday confirmed that venue will be Toftir which is 2 hours away (by coach and ferry) from Torshavn

I always assumed that it would be Toftir as I heard the new stadium has an astroturf pitch.
