Well done to Japan for qualifying for the last 16. They've been a pleasure to watch over the last couple of weeks. They may not have the most talented squad in the competition but they work harder than anyone I've seen for a long time. Chased and tackled anything that moves. A real example for teams like Scotland.
Fantastic atmosphere at their games and I fancy them to put Turkey out.

Something to say |
I'll second that Jaggy. Them and Korea have been excellent to watch. Hopefully they will both go far, espically Japan cos I got them in the sweep at work. £64 to the winner.
Come on the boys fi the rising sun.

Like to see Korea go through too, but I think Portugal might just sneak past them (assuming they don't play like they did against the Yanks). Can't see Poland taking anything from USA. They chucked it against Portugal and are looking forward to their flight home.

I agree, i took Japan to win their group at 5-1. Not a bad bet eh?
I think it's about time we sat up and took notice of all these so called minnows. Look how far the likes of Costa Rica have come since Italia 90 (oops, i said it!)
I think the Japs have the ability to take the Turks in the next round.

Had a flutter on Japan to win their group too. Unfortunately I combined it with France, Argentina & Italy winning theirs' too!

I think their chances are good against Turkey (although they are also good).

Well, Jaggy Jim is up with me on predicting results...Poland 2-0 up after 5 minutes !
I can only echo though the comments about Japan and s.Korea....it's been brilliant to see two 'non-football' lands play such good, attacking, attractive football...combine that with the fact that their fans are all absolute and uuter nutters (in the nicest possible way), and for me I hope both of them go as far as possible in the competition.

Spot on predictions I made then!! Didn't bank on Pinto committing GBH and the Polish reserves proving a point.
Delighted to see the Koreans prove me wrong.
Good to see a saltire at the Poland v USA game too.
