Having watch all three of italys games, i am beginning to feel the whole world is against them!

last two games they have had four perfectly good goals disallowed. Only thing that makes up for this is the fact that two of them were chalked off by the worst ref so far in the tournament.... a certain Mr Grahem Poll from the EPL!

Got to agree with you there.

They look pretty good going forward. My tip for the cup now.

I hope Italy win it. Just a shame for top ref Collina that if Italy do well, he won't be allowed any more matches.

Top ref Collina??
I have never thought this....am I the only one who thinks he is the most petty ref at the tournament. If you are unsure please be reminded of his performance in the Ullevi when we lost to Sweden....Colin Hendry couldn't go near a Swede without him reaching for his whistle. I think Mr Frisk is possibly the best ref around 9and he is the only one to have refereedin a world cup finals and won the national!)

I agree with the sympathies towards italy. I thought we would have to shootthe linesmen before we were gonig to be allowed to score.

4 dodgy decisions against them and 2 dodgy decisions for you know who. It's a feckin lottery oot there. The Sassens stayed in cause o it and the Italians stayed in despite o it. The do look like they could get a lot better. Dunno if it's possible but Senegal v Italy and Spain v Brazil would be a grand semis with Brazil v Italy in the final and at the top of their games. Can't wait...

Sorry Sonny, - but - Senegal and Italy are in different sides of the the draw, as are Spain and Brazil. Therefore, your semi final teams can't meet until the final...

So, the semi finals that I would now like to see are Brazil v Japan (or Senegal for Sonny) and Italy v Germany. Sonny's Brazil v Italy final will also suit me...

Brazil v Italy would also suit me as I put money on it at 12-1 before the tournament started. However, if you read the Congratulations Japan thread you'll see how much use my predictions are!!

I had a 5/6 group winners bet at around 9/1.. Brazil, Spain, Italy, Argentina, Germany and South Korea.
So the dodgy reffing in Italy's games lost it for me

Surely a team can only get so much bad luck, hopefully Italy can now put it all behind them and go on to lift the cup. I'd like to wish them all the very best and the fact that I backed them at 6/1 has nowt to do with it !

chae424,
i think walker steps up only needed five out of six so if italy had won the group argentina would'nt have been  required for a winning line.

Collina is OK but as a 4th referee (to show us if there is some extra time).
As for the other referees, I think the organizers should make a better choice for such important tournaments like WC or EC. I know they wanted to have referees from all continents, but you canít put the referee from the country that has 7-8 football clubs. It will ruin the game.

I thought ol hughie baby did quite a sterling job in the Portgal game ..must have felt like home to him with all the rain pelting down ...If Sweden get through ( watchin it overseas ( Far East) while we speak ..and my god ...talk about biased English commentary ..you'd think they were the Anti Christ ..obviously England is frightended of a future rematch.

Anyway gettin back to Dallas, that would be fine if he ref'ed another game with Sweden were in it ..bit o rain and Larrson ..make him feel at home ...

here's a tech question .. oot of interest does anybody know the maximum velocity and distance the Korean/Japanese equivelent of a fifty pence piece is ???
