I have been onto Globalnet / XO communications / whatever they call themselves now about the loss of service.  They have been experiencing some problems with email and authentication (automated message 'our engineers are working on this issue') but no mention of domain access problems.  However, after twice holding in a queue for 40 mins+ (contant crap music and apologies!), I had to head off and do important things like play golf, etc before any I managed any verbal contact with their technical support staff.  I therefore propose to leave the situation as it is as the board seems to have come back to the normal, reliable speed we have come to expect.  Let's hope the problem has been resolved for good however.
