this is a non event when englan* can pick up a shhhhhhed load of medals with no world competition then when olympics threaten we become british and win sweet fa the real medal as we all know is world gold, not some little get together it is a sad competition.

proud to be scottish, if your country had picked up a shedload of medals at the Commonwealth Games would you be moaning about what a non-event it is and how poor the standard was? Do you regard the European football Championships as a 'sad competition' because the South Americans aren't there?
And you call us bad sportsmen 
Admit it, it was quite a fun event. Not Olympic standard, no, but a pretty good spectacle. Better than you, I or anyone expected.

Ahh..... so the fact that England have actually done quite well means it must be a 'non event'? Yeeees. As Kernaghan points out, it seems unlikely you would hold the same view had Scotland managed to pick up loads of medals.
Jonny, either our athletes are slacking or the Scots have been over-achieving!  However if you look at the total number of golds we have 54 to your 6, which is closer to the magical 'X10'..........
The Aussies still got loads more than everyone else though, their sporting set-up must be incredible. Good job they're rubbish at football. Oooops sorry.....

Get Scotland into the Olympics now and give all our sportsmen and women a chance to compete for their own country at the very highest level,the fact they were representing Scotland has come through from all our medal winners as a major driver.
