Aye the results today have been outstanding particularly Quarrie who just wouldnt be beat for a medal.

Serious point: Its surely time for our own coverage from the BBC, the way they have concentrated on English athletes/competitors has been a disgrace, this is an old subject but now that England seems to have rediscovered itself the case for seperate Scottish coverage in TV terms is undeniable.

I would be happy with just  a less bias coverage! but then again that could apply to everything the ebc covers!

I have watched a fair bit of the coverage and had barely heard of any scottish athletes until today!

I've already e mailed the ebc to complain, won't do much good I suppose but if we don't point out the bizarre situation of us receiving our coverage from a foreign country that we are competing against then they will think there is nothing wrong with what they are doing.
And well done to Chris Hoy as a cyclist myself I know that the english  cycling journalists thought that their man only had to turn up to win, sounds familiar.

Living in enemy territory I was wondering if the ebc coverage back home of the games was blanket E**lish bias?

Fuq me Lee McConnell in the 400m nearly sprang a huge surprise and won it and a wee brief interview.  Paula Radcliffe wins and Cram and Foster are spanking each others monkey's all night long.

I am paying my licence fee for this sodding drivel....

And another thing, I wet masel in the mens 100m when Chambers bottled it.... and the way the ebc went on, of course he wouldn't do a thing like that, my erse.  Didn't have the bottle and couldnae deal wi the hype.

Aye, well done to Chris Hoy, Lee McConnell and Jamie Quarry - but I still haven't seen Chris getting his gold medal. You can be damn sure that if Jason Queally had won, we'd have heard "Land of soap and water" straight after seeing his winning performace about half a dozen times.

Here's hoping that Reporting Scotland show it tonight.

E mail has just been sent .....requesting an answer to why BBC Scotland has Scotland in its title.

This is probably the BBC,s interpretation of "full and equal partnership".

Yeah - imagine thinking that an Olympic Gold medallist might have a chance of winning eh? Now that is arrogant.

CUFC, do you not take any notice of the media?
Ok, he got a Gold at the Olympics but the way it was reported wis just SO biased... the guy didnt even need to change out of his teddy bear pyjamas to win the bloody thing.
And so he did...

I haven't been paying that much attention to the Games, I admit - far more interested in the cricket. So no, I hadn't seen any of the media build-up. But it doesn't seem unnatural or arrogant that the Olympic Champion (I presume it was the same event he won gold at?) was being touted as the hot favourite for what is the athletics equivalent of the Worthington Cup. But clearly he didn't win, well done to the guy who did.

Totally agree that you should have your own coverage in this sort of situation though.

Well done to all three, I qwent to school with Chris and he's a good lad. It's always good to beat the English.

It was good to hear that Lee McConnell was running for Britain. The Ebc kept on calling her British, wonder if they would have done that if she had not got a medal.

To be fair, the commentators do seem to be unable to get it right for any athletes and have been calling a lot of the English competitors British as well.  So it may be down to stupidity rather than malice.

More interestingly, at a number of events I have seen union flags being waved.  Who are they supporting?  Has nobody pointed out to them that Britain aren't taking part?  Wonder if they will turn up at the European Championships and wave the European flag?
