You mention that you found my comment "distasteful" - Why? Also mentioned that "comments like that...other forums and not football one's."
The theme of the thread is about Israeli war crimes in relation to international football and specifically Scotland. I didn't start the thread and think my comments have kept well within the permaters of it.
As for believing propaganda and anecdotal evidence. My points are from a lot of different sources including an Israeli historian and the leader of the Scottish Trade Union's Congress among others. All of whom have recently visited there and used well honed methods of inquiry and diplomacy to reach their conclusions.
Appeasement isn't an option. The Israeli state is one of the most militarily advanced nations in the world and armed to the teeth. Add this to their nuclear capability and their racist state policies and you have a recipe for disaster, including nuclear terrororism in years to come. Since Sharon came to power women are being denied hospital treatment unless they strip naked in front of soldiers, South African apartheid style passbooks are being issued to Palestinians. Market places are sporadically shelled, assassinations are regular and beatings are meted out regulalarly. Those within the Palestinian organisations who are working to stop the suicide bombings are being assassinated, imprisoned or deported. Why? Cause the more suicide bombings there are the more Sharon can bulldoze houses and drive deport more Palestinians. When a suspected "terrorist" is not found in raids their families are detained in order to flush them out....
I could go on and on. The point is that Israel has changed in nature. Sharon is a geopolitical thug who wants to drive the Palestinians out of Israel, West Bank and Gaza in their millions and that aim is expected to be achieved within a year. Meanwhile the ritual humiliation of innocent civilians and the curfews go on. UNder pressure from the US the UN investigation of the Jenin invasion was stopped and the mass graves will never be examined.
This socalled "war on terror" was Sharon's pretext to have a racially pure Israel enforced by US weapons and nuclear threat.
If Sharon is not stopped there could well be a nuclear holocaust in the region and that would have massive ramifications well beyond the region.
Following Bushes foreign policy is a recipe for future generations being under the threat of nuclear suitcases and all because we didn't want to see the "ragheads" as repressed human beings.

You can rubbish and detest my politics and religion, but, never bring the West End's premier nightspot disrepute.
The sticky floored Mecca has "character" so sadly lacking in establishments of any quality.
If only Rosco's had not shut down we could all have marched there after the Denmark game.

Can we all just leave politics off this board please and concentrate on football? especially this subject which obviously is very emotive to some people.
We all have our own ways of making a protest against something we disagree with, but leave football out of it and lets get the game played.

Volcano was knocked down ages ago, given a reprieve of a year or so as it closed initially 5 years or so ago
Now very nice and expensive flats being built.
And anyway, Cleopatra's has always been and always will be the West End's premier nightspot.
Even the incredibly suspect Videoflex(changed name several times) at Anniesland X
could not compete!!

Sound advice there Reeky,
Censorship causes too many probs on the board. I just ignore threads I don't appreciate and they do go away eventually. I prefer to leave policing to the admin team so I don't go around telling fowks what and what not to talk about. Oh BTW, the next time we hear a football player talk about "representing their country" mibbe a wee reflection on this topic wouldn't hurt us all.

It is a funny old board this really and here is why...........
Most of us on here have very strong opinions about a number of issues including politics, club football. Scotland v UK etc etc ...I could go on but I am sure all of you will get the drift.
The similarity between most people on here is that they view this board as a board for the Tartan Army and all the fun and frivolity that goes with it including meeting up and having a wee Magoo sesh as well as talking about our national team (interlopers excepted  )
What always gets on my goat is that there are a few and you always see them on posts such as this who suddenly think that the TAMB is an open forum which can be used to discuss anything and make posts about subjects that are obviously emotive and therefore will undoubtedly lead to divisions within the TAMB.....So what I hear the advocates of free speech for all cry...... well "what" in my opinion and I think if a vote were cast I would find myself in the overwhelming majority is simply that most of us do not come on here to discuss such emotive subjects and if we really wanted to discuss them we would find another forum to do so.
I am not the board police nor am I in a position to censor anything but I have said it before and I will say it again please keep politics off this board or maybe Mirza can open a new forum where all of you posters so inclined can discuss politics till your hear'ts content
Then we can get back to being a board about the scottish national football team and all of its supporters no more no less.
I am sure Tam gave a link for a political forum in one of his posts go and discuss your poltical opinions there!

Heh! guys dont worry Lamia seems to think that she has had a concensus before about free speech and free subject matter, if my memory serves me correctly this was never in fact done, if it was and the whole TAMB voted then I will stand corrected if not maybe it is time for one. All those in favour of turning the TAMB into an anything goes including politics and religion and club football forum say Aye here all those in favour of keeping this board to its origonal ideals i.e. talk bout the TA say Nae.
I for one was brought up to believe that the above mentioned subject matters should only be discussed in very close company for fear of alienating onself from ones peers.
In the meantime I will just carry on posting in the fun and frivolity section and try wherever possible to avoid the political and emotive subjects.
My only point to this debate would be that we seem to have rid the board of it's inane posturing about the OF and moved onto more relevant posts such as the burdz in Reykyavik et al which I for one find much more interesting
If I want to discus politics world or local I will do it face to face with my fellow Tambers should I so desire the next time I meet them but I will not do it on here.
Now meanwhile back at the ranch has everyone seen the locals in Iceland and Reykjavic doesnt it make you wish that it was October already
