the worst thing i've seen [other than my own antic's of course] is a few neds in kilts trying to wind up some Germans on a march, oh and not forgetting a wee guy in edinburgh trying to take a traffic cone to the NZ game!

i think the general point of the thread is that the goodnature of the TA seems to outweigh and of the antics that go on at any football game.
people piss in the street on the way to games, they sing songs. It can be a disturbance (why buy a house near a 50,000 stadium if you are not going to expect this kind of thind).
But, The general good nature and friendlieness, shown on many occasions home and away, is what earns us our reputation.

Actually thankfully after much brain racking I think I have finally figured out what HR's is talking about. He is obviously referring to the Croy Tartan Army.....
The good: well that has to be the legendary stupid fanny himself....

I agree with most of what you say Hawkeye,but not the SNP thing.It wouldn't matter if you supported Scotland or not.Failing to vote SNP must go down as utter rank stupidity,no matter what your football leanings.And if you want to debate my opinions,let's go!
My point is,we nationalists accept unionist yellow-bellied treacherous royalist turncoat dogs in the TA,as it shows them what being Scottish is all about,and educates them in the ways of righteousness.We care!

We have had debates about the TA's behaviour many times and some think its fine others don't. WW summed it up everyone draws the line on what is acceptable in a different place. I fail to see where anyone has contradicted themselves.
BTW have you read the article i.e what folk on the 442 thread are agreeing with (btw some disagreed there also!) and compared it to your original points. Therein may lie the answer you seek.
I too have seen anti-social behaviour at games and have been vocal on this in the past. Maybe I'm slow on the uptake but I didn't realise this was the point of your post until very late on. In fact I am still not entirely convinced it was your original point when I go back and read your first post.
Anyway people will always have differing opinions and thats what we are again seeing. Who is to say who is right!

To whom it may concern, my original post was to highlight 3 issues IMO within the T.A. from my view point, being of sober eyes at matches and observing behaviour, also on some posts on T.A.M.B. these issues are not in any way of epidemic proportions, but I was bringing them to the surface hoping that the potential damage could be seen and that by some means could be drawn back, (a kind of risk assessment and damage prevention exaercise)
I know that I am new to the T.A. in it's present format, and people may think, who the hell does he think he is,

It is just that I have a pride in my country, when I was younger I did things that would have brought my country into disrespect, but nobody gave a f**k and advised me different, now I feel if I can bring potential probs to the attention of the majority, then those resposible may have someone to guide them onto an other way of behaviour, by having a quiet word with them.
So I was not pointing fingers at any one, I was not personalising. I was just trying to be a responsible Scotsman, trying to help stop potential damage being done to the good name of the country that I love.
If this is so wrong then find me guilty of what ever you wish.

Call me stupid, call me picky, but I took it to meant that this thread was about the "TAMB" 'cos you said it was. How it evolved into a debate about the wider morality of the TA is beyond my comprehension. Maybe if you lose that argument then you can say it's actually supposed to be about astro physics, and then just keep changing the subject until you're "right"...
Getting back to the apparent point of this thread, I have never heard obscene songs, seen any instances of indecent exposure to young foreign ladies, or witnessed anybody pishing in the street - whilst being on the TAMB...

My problem, I keep calling the T.A. and The T.A.M.B. as the same thing as you may notice on the posts re Dukla game, Richie is forever teling me off, but it is meant to cover both messages on boards and behaviour at games. Or do T.A.M.B. Members not attend games Mr Picky.

That is not being picky.
Anyone that thinks the TAMB is the TA is going to get a good kicking one day from some of these old timer guys that hate the TAMBers.
