I have to defend Angela Forbes. I live in South Africa and the personal service she has been giving me is absolutely brilliant. For each game she personally communicates with me and brings my tickets to the destination. For example, she knows that a deadline of 8 August is completely impractical for me, but she uses her intiative to contact me. As someone said earlier, Marjorie was tha face of the Travel Club, behind the scenes there are others doing doing good work. In my opinion Angela does a great job and anyone who disagrees can GTF!

Spoke to a friend of mine today whos living out of the country for while - The SFA called him to confirm he had a ticket & to take Credit card details over the phone, so he would be guaranteed a ticket - obviously he qualified by attending the game in Kaunas earlier this year.Personally, I think this is pretty good service & in itself is a mammoth task if you consider the number involved.
The lady from the SFA mentioned that there had been alot of abusive calls from upset Travel Club members who didnt get a ticket .
Giving someone abuse over the phone is unlikely to get you a ticket , nor is it likely to endear you to the SFA staff on the other end of the line - especially if you have given them your membership number before launching into abuse.
Lets not give the lassies a hard time - it seems that there are going to be more than enough tickets available thro one source or another ( the grey market )
just my thoughts........now i await the abuse.....!

Any time I`ve had to contact the STC they have been friendly and helpful but agree with KTA regarding the time thingy.
Were going in a group of 36 and it`s no easy trying to get awe the dosh,forms,travel arrangements together then send it back to Glesgi in
6 days

That,s all I was disappointed about"the 6 days"
No probs with tickets(as I,m not a big game hunter)and I do appreciate the workers behind the scenes but as usual it just decended into a slagging match .Seems to happen all the time these days!!

I think most of the slaggin got put back to the whingers though.
1400 on the same boat, but I should have got one.
Canna be doin with all the sheet. And when the play off comes. "I applied but never got, I deserve one" I can see it all now.
Going to enjoy the party and see what comes. There are heaps of german end ones up for grabs sitting next to fellow TA footsoldiers. Some big game hunters and some no.

My point earlier was to question why they had changed the process for getting seats beside your mates.
We've had many 'big games' where you could simply fill in a single form for all those who were eligible for tickets. All of a sudden you have to physically batch all the forms together. In a week. During the holidays. Duuuuh or whooooosh (delete as appropriate).
Why change the format and leave us with such a tight timescale to return the tickets??

A week to respond in the middle of holiday season is a bit tight - so much so that I've been relieved of any involvement in the process to make sure we actually get forms back in time  Ticket allocation seems fair enough as usual.
According to a chimeric source at the SFA (no names), there is a fair chance that if we get to the play-offs the guys who missed out in this ballot will be at the head of the queue for tickets - in front of even the elite TA (and Thermo)

ok so theres a lot of praise here for the club and rightly so, but sometimes you also have to accept critisism when its due.
If a father and son that always go together only get one ticket, thats a mistake. If, as has also been stated a husband and wife have only been offered one ticket then thats a mistake.
You cant always go around saying how great everything is and burying your heads in the sand when mistakes are being made.
The only way they can continually improve and update their methods is if we point out the mistakes otherwise we might as well go back to queueing up outside Park Gardens!

Point taken Wrighty, but they've obviously set such a tight deadline for a reason (although it does seem a bit tight, especially at this time of year).
What pisses me off though is we seem to have folk moaning every time there's an away game. And as for folk moaning because they're not getting the same opportunity as folk who go to the less glamourous games; well to me that just defies belief. It's the same whether it's club or international football - the folk who go to most games deserve the tickets for the big games first. I'm the same as most in as much as not being able to afford to go to every game, I'm not one of the folk who go to every single game. Normally one a year.

Its 2003..................there are men frolicking around in space.............................we can grow lettuce that is red........................you can buy vodka jelly, but we can't sort out a few tickets in a reasonable sense of time. It is shoddy and there is no need for it. This game was THE game on the calender over a year ago. Therefore, its totally reasonable to conclude that giving folk a week to reply (or else!) in the peak holiday season is pretty much crap admin. It might have something to do with the German FA also, but hey, I thought we had communications! And as for Marj being the face of the STC.................she was...................and she was brilliant and now there is no face so no one knows where to go. Marj would have helped people and the STC needs someone similar who is ready to help out rather than being burdened under the MASSIVE response to something that any fish could have worked out yonks ago.
Ive no idea why this degenerated into a "who deserves tickets" thing cos you are either in or your out. Criteria is pretty simple methinks. And big game hunters!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I would have thought that was all of us cos we all want to be there at those moments.
And if people travel together and want to sit together it should be made as easy as possible, not the other way around. After all the STC job is made easy by fact that the TA has a good rep and the official tickets go to known people who funnily enough travel together and like to sit together!!!!!!!............there is no fear ala other FAs. Its a two way thing, communication is key and perhaps the service could be improved.
And some people are just getting way too carried away.
