So the winning formula appears to be
FORGET going to home games to try to accrue points, just apply for one less popular away game with a small allocation(i.e. Iceland),and you'll be guaranteed a big away game ticket.Whether you actually planned to go to Iceland or not!!!
It's called the Scotland Travel Club, the clue is in the name. That's why it's not the Scotland 'Home Games at Hampden' Club

Guys. However the SFA do it, they cannie win. Especially when they are up against such narrow minded folk. How many times have we heard "Bring back Marjory"? Marjory was the public FACE of the Travel Club. She was the nice lady on the phone who took time to care and remember stuff about us. She was not singlehandedly responsible for all the admin involved in getting us tickets. I think some of us forget that. And it certainly isn't fair to refer to someone as an "unhelpful old Bint " when they are clearly rushed off their feet.

You could always have informed the TC of your change of address.
This would stop the headache for you.
If you are going to get tickets, they will send them to your address on file. So they will need re-directed as well.
Redirection is for those who can't remember all the addresses that need changing right now and phone companies direct.
How can you forget the Travel Club, impending game and foresee all the problems that you may have created for yourself.

Thermopylae, some of us are lucky to go to the Costa's & away games. Part of the deal is I take the wife & bairn away to get a few rays of sun during the school hols & then save like fcuk tae go and see Scotland . The only qualifying game I've missed since 1998 was Iceland.
However I wish I was one of those rich barstewards who didnae need tae dae wee jobs oan the side tae make up the odds

Didn't know when the forms would be coming out, therefore didnt want to change my address too early in case they got sent to my new address prior to moving in, redirection of mail was supposed to cover all bases.

"The fact remains the Travel Club is not as organised and accessible as it should be." ?????
Maybe if less people phoned up moaning at them, they might be able to get on and do their jobs.

Bairn,
I was only winding folk up with that.
Giblet,
Old brigade??? Thanks very much!
Pre Dublin 2000 I'd only been to five games, and three of them were in England!
Anyway, feel free to continue posting whatever you like - there's no need to get all huffy if people disagree with you!
I'm not "board polis" and I'm not the "elected voice" of the TA. All I did was voice an opinion on your opinion. I may not have said it very nicely, but I don't think I was the only one...

I'm movin house later this year, but there will be a gap between dates.
Yes, we will be using re direction.
But I am changing most stuff to either my mother in law or mother. Just to tide me over. I am sure you had a friend you could trust.
TC is not a recognised method of ID in the bank so it can go anywhere.
now if everybody thought a little bit ahead, then it wouldn't be the old bint's fault. TC could be more cost effective as they wouldn't spend all day on the phone listening to problems.

Just spoke to an elderly woman at the Travel Club.
Unhelpfull old bint.
Apparently that was Angela, the young lass who replaced Marjorie, and who at the time thought she was taking on a nice wee job helping out all those wonderfully friendly and jovial Tartan Army types that she'd seen in the Daily Record.
Needless to say she's aged about 40 years since, and is now partially deaf in one ear.

This is not a new phenomenon having ballots for tickets. Clubs do it all the time for big matches where there is a bigger demand than the supply, so why the bother on here. Rules are rules whenever they make them and up until now I have not seen a fairer option put forward.
Some win some lose. It is a fact of life and life is not fair on everyone.
Stop the moaning and get along to the Faeroes and Lithuania home matches and give the lads loads of support as we need to win these two matches to qualify.

Something to say |
The thing is that a lot of this hassle is so unnecessary. The bit I can't understand is why they couldnt have dealt with the people who were automatically alllocated a ticket first. Allowing anyone who had been to an away qualifier to get a ticket was always a strong possibility. They should have anounced that a month ago and dealt with them then. That would have kept 3000 folk happy.
Any extra tickets the SFA got would just be more for the ballot and then they would only have to process 4000 applications rather than the full 7400 they will have to now.
The STC have left themselves a lot less time to sort out the whole ticket situation which has had an adverse impact on us. Once they get all the forms processed, they will still have to sort out the tickets that aren't taken up - could there be a bundle of unallocated tickets left at the end of this? Oh, and there is the Faroes tickets to deal with too.
Apart from that, they are doing a grand job and I am looking forward to receiving my ticket!
