No slight taken as you're right about Rushden and Diamonds. What is important about the manufacturers is that you can actually buy the tops in sports shops or wherever and associated merchandise. Fila failed on that mark alone as you couldn't buy anything.

Clifton,

A bit paranoid there about censorship on this board eh? Your post is hardly likely to be removed why would it be? Its actually one of your more sensible posts...

As an aside Clifton its a bit weird as i just mentioned in a conversation today that we hadn't heard from you for a while so I am a bit freaked now...

JCFC - Can you not buy them online?  I find it amazing that you cannot purchase Scotland merchandise in Scotland as you say?!  That ridiculous, that should be of paramount importance to the SFA......

Lamia - Yeah, stayed away from here for a while as it all got a bit vicious at one point.  Not that I'm complaining, I am after all a tourist if you like, I just check up occasionally on here to see what you are all discussing, one of the better forums on the net IMO.  Does old Kernaghan still post, I remember he was quite knowledgeable for a fan of the **** !.....

I dont think it matters who makes it, if it is a nice top people will buy it irrespective of brand name :richiethelabelman: In saying that I dont think the current home top is anything to write home about but their are tons of folk walking about with it on.

Clifton are you in Bristol or a fan of Bernie?

Don't see how a snake-like femme fetale could be related to a clipper ship....

As long as it is only ATAC and none of Reeky Sporrans mob.

Giblet, we already have oor space reserved for oor names, on the erse of the shorts

As far as Diadora are concerned, not only have we tumbled down the rankings, we have tumbled down the league of decent kit manufacturers as well. However, lets hope they make a better job at it than Fila and actually produce merchandise that you can buy in the shops.

Addidas or Nike were never likely to want to make Scotlands top-why would they want to be associated with a side ranked 63rd in the world?!

Adidas are at just about any level of the world rankings you care to mention. 3rd, 63rd, 163rd, it's all the same to them.

As far as the SFA are concerned, does it matter who makes the strip or what it looks like? We are a pretty predictable bunch, regardless of how much we complain, what the design is like or who makes it, as long as the shirt is available to buy we all buy it anyway! Case in point: pinstripe Fila top !

dont care what the strip is like, it could be lime green with pink and yellow spots {mind you would not buy one} as long as scotland play well, win games and start to compete at a higher level again.
and tartan scouser though you would be more bothered about the track suit .{sorry mate could not resist} joke

Don't see why Adidas wouldn't want the Scotland contract. They've got the Liechenstein one!

Dead right - the big kit makers (Adidas, Puma, Nike, etc) make kits for every bloody team going, and to be fair, we would be certainly much much higher in the global sales chart than our current FIFA ranking.

Going to Xara & TFG would be commercial suicide, surely? Imagine if Scotland had changed from Umbro to Matchwinner 10 years ago (And where are Matchwinner now?)!

Adidas, Puma or suchlike would allow the SFA to get the appropriate level of advertising, marketing and purchasing opportunties for punters, therefore maximising revenue opportunities for the SFA. Or have they perhaps taken the biggest cheque up front instead?!

After all, would the average Joe on the street want to buy a Scotland shirt made by Adidas or one by Xara?
