Maybe this has been discussed already bit I just heard on the news that if Michael Mols' transfer to Sunderland goes ahead, Kevin Kyle could be moving to Rangers as part of the deal. I don't know if this would be a good or a bad thing. It'd be nice to have him in Scottish football, but on the otherhand, would he get many games? The last thing we want is for another Scottish player to do a Kenny Miller.

Well if he goes to Rangers he will probably get just as much first team football as he does at Sunderland...

Kevin, If Kyle didnt want to sign for Swindon, why would he want to sign for Thistle!!!!
Anyway, He said he wanted to stay at Sunderland to fight for his place... but i think he is behind a few people, even Michael Ready, and with Mols' imminent arrival the situation may force his hand.

Robbie Winters is sh*te!!
he was told by Luton that he wasnt good enough and now is havin a trial with Oldham.
I personally dont rate Kyle that much I think Miller and maybe Burchill should surpass him (by the Iceland game im sure one of them/both of them!!)

Getting back to your anti Rangers rantings ( you Dons fans are so parochial! you know who you are)
Alex McLeish has certainly a different view on players than Advocaat and was responsible for giving the younger Scots guys like Ross,Hughes,Malcolm a regular game last season. Rangers are not exactly awash with good strikers and if he managed to offload Flo, there is a chance that Kyle could feature alongside Lovercrands and Averladze.

Just out of interest (I genuinely don't know the answer to this), have Maurice Ross, Stephen Hughes or Robert Malcolm featured in Rangers first two games of the season?
From what I've seen, the first two are pretty good players and I hope they are going to get regular games this season too - the same would go for Kevin Kyle if he was to sign for Rangers. I hope I'm wrong, but I can't see this happening - not while the pressure to wrest the title away from Parkhead is so great.
BTW, I agree with Jimbers too...Winters is sh*te

You are right tartansheep that they have'nae featured so far. However, McLeish has to try and bring on those guys and still get results. Some of rangers foreigners are getting on a bit and I think we will see him change the team over the course of the year.
As I Rangers fan I always admired McLeish as a player and he has brought that same commitment into his job at Rangers.I think we need Scots managers at the helm of our teams to give Scots guys there chance.

Huv tae agree that Scots boys will get more chances under McLeish but the bottom line for the OF is success - if the league starts slipping away I'm sure that philosphy will be quickly adapted to playing anyone that can win a couple o' games and stuff the long term development.
Lost It - I think it is really only the OF that needs Scots managers at the helm. The rest o' the teams have Scottish bank balances to restrict the foreigners (as Ally gave a good example of).

Ghaax, granted success is key but the balance is completely out of whack as I am sure we all agree. My view was that it was just about right with the three foreigner rule , pre Bosman. I guess I was obliquely referring to the fact that that I think McLeish will have a positive effect on the player pool rather than a negative one.
Ally's point though points more to bank balance restrictions than a real desire to see Scotland succeed. There is a wee bubble of self - delusion being created up in Aberdeen.( Scotlands team etc that sticks in my craw.)
However, I genuinely want to see a competitive league full of emerging Scotish talent with the OF part of it.
A point missed is that since the SPL evolved outside of the control of the SFA ( for all the good they do!) there is no cohesive plan to or compuction for anyone to work together for the good of the whole.
In our Sporting goldfish bowl, we tend to villify the personalities involved when the real problem is as ever our ability to orgainse and do something about.
