Yer quite right Bzzzz..........
The SFA and bertie are inconsiderate,........I thought at the very least they would have phoned me to check the dates of ma hols before arranging a qualifier against Iceland and a friendly against Canada
Am in Florida when they play these 2 games.

Talks too much |
Isn't the idea to get the best set of fixtures to enable us to qualify - with the understanding that there are four other nations also trying to get their own way as well - rather than what suits peoples holidays.
Remember, no-one asks you to follow Scotland.
I can just see it now, David Taylor saying to Berti "sorry, you're going to have to play Germany in October so as the boys in the Tartan Army can do a double header withthe Oktoberfest" - for pedants out there, I know the Oktoberfest is in September, but you get the idea.

Willfae is right, the International date on 15/16th October has been known since at least the Euro2004 draw, and we have known for at least a good 2/3 months that we would be playing someone on that date. Easter Road, whilst not being my favourite ground is a good choice, as is the policy of taking the smaller games around the country, better a packed Easter Road than a third full Hampden. 95% of other countries do this, why not us?
I also think that the German FA do have first pick of the fixtures being first seeds, and whilst I would have loved an away double header, the team comes first not the TA!!
My only gripe that I have with the SFA is that they could arrange friendly fixtures a wee bit quicker than they do. How long have we been waiting for the November and February fixtures to be confirmed? ages........

I would have thought the SFA get the gate receipts and pay H*bs a fee for ground hire?

Fresh ideas |
I happy that the Canada Game is on as it might give Berti the Chance to use some more young Players as the first team player will be tired arfter the iceland game. Let get behind him as he dragging us to level we should be at.
If anyone pissed off it should be me as i booked my flight back to London on the afternoon of the game but i happy to get it changed and i had to grovel to my boss a Leeds/England Fan for a extra day off.

Players wont be tired at all..... THey play two games a week regularly for their clubs. But I do think it will be another case of Bertie experimenting to see what he can do for the upcoming games against germany.

Something to say |
Bzzzzz,
I think when you made this post you knew exactly what you were doing and expected a lot of replies Well done. However the point you are missing is Berti has come in and told the SFA I will make this team successful and I don't care who I upset on the way. I am afraid I don't agree with you with reference to the logistics either as wherever we play we can never say that we will be there but most of us can say we will try our damned best to be there. I am looking forward to flying in to Glasgow kissing the bird and heading towards Edinburgh(probably with her). I love watching Scotland and would love to watch them as often as Berti would, BRING IT ON>

Im with u Ally. Ye cannae arrange games around the opinions of fans. We have to give the team the best chance of qualifying. Tickets are already a problem in Iceland without making it a double header with the Faroes. I think the fixtures we have are fine. I would rather play Germany here first then if we can get 3pts the pressure is off and the Germans are in big trouble.

Tickets were always gonna be a problem as soon as we were drawn in groups with countries that couldnt give us as many tickets as we have taken to alot of games recently. 1 or 2,000 went to a friendly in deepest darkest Poland and we will only be getting 700 odd tickets for a qualifier in Iceland?!?! not good. Personally Im glad the game is in October..... might get some snowboarding in too

This is just another classic example of some TA taking things a bit tooo faaaarrr ..... and, I think, missing the point ! The first and most important thing is getting some decent results which leads to more chances of havin an even better party. To ma mind the best thing about the TA is the shambolic mish mash of folk coming together and having a quality time in a variety of locations ...... but as soon as you start believing the hype (with TA assosciations etc) it will get a little bit lost.
Let Bertie do his thing and back him all the way !
Have a moan about nothin at yer local TA's agm and finacial review !
moan the fish !!
