Just got back from my hols to find 36 e.mails on my pc,half of them were from T.A.M.B.members 18 of them had viruses,how do you know if e.mails are genuine or if somebody is taking the piss?? can anyone help?

err on the side of caution and delete the ones wi attachments.Also would delete the ones who`s email address you don`t recognise.Thats what I do...........just ma opinion.

BB like you and I am sure everyone else on the board I have had loads of these e-mails.
Solution is to delete any e-mail with an attachment and no text.

I think you have the klez virus,if you log into
http://www.symantac.com you will get a free download for the antivirus klez plus the klez32 virus.
It happened to myself and the download quickly cleaned up my computer.

It shows you who's trying to get in, then blocks them. They must like my PC cos since I've installed it (20 minutes ago), it's blocked 8 people.

Dianne, you'll be amazed by the amount of attempts tae get access tae yer PC when yer oanline, but remember, a firewall won't stop viruses appearing in your inbox. Just keep yer antivirus software up tae date and ye'll be fine n' dandy.

I have come to the conclusion that the TA is a virus ridden shower judging by number of attempted email virus distribusions that appear in my inbox on a daily basis. I think there must be at least couple of infected bodies that are constantly sending out such messages and don't even know it. The problem is that the sending address is normally from someone else in the e-address book and not the actual address of the sender... Get your free outlook express patch from microsoft (downloadable) and this will also reduce your chances of infection from these wee nasties!!!
