GET A LIFE!!!

tickets went on sale yesterday at some safeway stores for scotland home game at hampden against denmark.
david taylor admitted "we got it badly wrong when we priced fans out of the market for the most important wc qualifier against belgium, we needed a full house but the fans stayed away because the tickets were too dear," the artical goea on to say the sfa have had 2300 requests for tickets for scotlands away tie against iceland, looks like 1000 of us will be on the hill behind the ground then!!!

I was a wee bit embarassed at first when I heard our tickets were on sale at Safeway, but now I'm quite happy.  OK its not the coolest place to sell your national teams tickets but I remember my pre-travel club days, and it was an absolute b@st@rd at times trying to get tickets.

If they are readily available and a bit cheaper then people will surely snap them up.  Hopefully it well get the younger kids intersted in Scotland and away from the Old Firm and the like.

More Than Words

I remember when I first started going to games we had to get a volunteer to go along to AT Mays (travel agents!!!) and queue to buy them there...

great idea to sell tickets at safeway, the more we can sell the better.  Was glad to see david taylor admit the prices for games in the past was too high, and will never happen again.

True story. I was actually in Safeway today (well, yesterday but I digress) and outside I overheard a conversation that I couldn't believe was even taking place. Bunch of young lads look up at the 'Scotland v Denmark - get your tickets here' banner and one of them says to another of them 'who do you want to win then?'.

Aye tickets at safeway should boost the home gates, pre TC I always have fond if quaint memories of trawling along to Scotball travel and picking them out of a book, good to see we are now in the 90's if not the 21st century, bring on the internet ticketing...

Fresh ideas

Just in case anyone's wondering, the Safeway tickets are for the East Stand, ie behind the goals.

So you are miles away from the pitch and get no atmosphere.

I was wondering if they were going to open that end seeing as it wasnae on the form the STC sent through...  Be interesting to see what the take up is like.  Hope we get a decent crowd for it, even if it to give the Danes some for rolling over in the 2nd round of the WC.
