Website is,

http://www.nimilkcup.org

Denmark beat the Irish 1-0 in their first game so the Scots only need a draw against Denmark to win the group, they would then play Paraguay in the final, they have beaten Wales and Northern Ireland in the other section!

Goal scorers from the game (according to the Belfast Telegraph) were Shaun Maloney and Darren Fletcher.

I'm sure the Milk Cup is an incredibly important tournament but you might spend your time more profitably figuring out how exactly the senior Scottish team came to be so far behind the senior Irish one. Ireland has a smaller population than Scotland and no football league to talk of and yet produces a team of a quality - getting to the last 32 of the World Cup - which Scotland can only dream of.  At the moment they seem to have a conveyor belt of talent - Duff, Roy Keane, Robbie Keane, Shay Given - which Scotland can't compete with. Why is that?

Talks too much

MM, this thread was about how the Scotland youth team got on and nothing else. So it is wrong for us to pass comments on the youths, we of course must use our time profitably wondering about our senior team all the time. Nobody made any comments about the development into senior players.
Look if you want to be controversial go do it elsewhere, ya annoying plook on the face of humanity.

MM, because for years the development of youth has been neglected.... however that is being put right as we speak.

So really it doesn't bother me that much because good times are just around the corner.

Besides if I were you I would be more worried about your spineless collective and the fact the rest of the world has figured out Sir Sven's one dimensional Graham Tayloresque tactics.

Aye and we all remeber how Ireland destroyed Scotland the last time we met! For your benefit MM, Scotland beat them 2-1 in Ireland. And I seem to recall the last time we played England we beat them 1-0 at Wembley also!!

There isn't much to choose between Scotland and Ireland, the got the big result beating Holland in the qualifiers while we chucked a 2-0 lead in our game with Belgium. Those results flip round and it's all very different.

We have plenty talent coming through thanks very much, if you knew anything about the subject you are commenting on you too would know that!!!

C'mon the Scots!!!

Fresh ideas

Just noticed from the web site that Scotland beat the welsh 4-1 (scorers unknown as yet) to finish 3rd. A reasonable result for the young lads.

Promising!!

I dont think it is wrong of us to pass judgement on the youths, fuch sake we reached the under 16 wc final against saudi arabia in 89? and only about three of those lads "made it" whats going wrobg between that age and seniors?

Of course, the media in this country are falling over themselves reporting on this tournament to keep us all upto date........not. Has anyone seen any coverage of this in the papers?

Well, up until a few months ago, young players didn't get a chance to play at national level, apart from the odd one or two.

In addition, when you have an U21 team that hasn't played a game in a YEAR, player development is going to be stifled somewhat!!

BTW, who said it was wrong to pass judgement on the youths?
