GET A LIFE!!!

Brazilian legend Jairzinho claims he wants to use his coaching and talent-spotting skills to help Scottish football.
The former Word Cup star, who appeared in the 1966, 70 and 74 competitions and is the only man ever to score in every round of the competition - believes Scotland could benefit by adding some samba flair.

Jairzinho was in Scotland on Tuesday to promote the work of Brazilian Soccer Schools and the game of Futebol de Salao. Jairzinho is the man credited with discovering the talents of Ronaldo and now he wants to introduce the popular scaled-down version of the beautiful game in Scotland.

"When I stopped playing football, I started coaching and I have been working as a coach for 17 years in Brazil," explained Jairzinho.

I would be very happy to integrate Brazilian football with Scottish football
"I have discovered quite a few talented players, like Ronaldo. He was playing Futebol de Salao and one day I spotted him and realised a great player would come out of Ronaldo.
"So I would be very happy to integrate Brazilian football with Scottish football by possibility bringing some skilful Brazilian players to Scottish football.
"I have prepared players who are now in Germany, and other countries throughout the world, and I would be very interested in making this integration with Scottish football."
The Brazilian theme was continued with Jairzinho's coaching session in Paisley being attended by Pele.

It wasn't the great number 10, who played along with Jairzinho in the famous yellow shirts of the current world champions, but local kid Pele Banjura.
The 8-year-old from Bonnybridge said Jairzinho was now his favourite player after being shown some keepie-uppie skills from the great man.

This would be great!
Canna see it hapenin though, the SFA (imo) are not as open to new ideas as they might like us to think they are, but surely anything like this could only be good for the future of our game?

Why would it be great to flood the youth system with non-Scots?

Dont think he means "flooding" but It is always good to play along side someone you can learn things from. THe thing with Futebol de Salao is the ball is heavier so you cant hoof it that far so you have to develope your close control and short passing. Not only would it make our youngsters better, it will be just like watching brazil Nice attractive football and winning..... now that WOULD be nice!

I know I'm probably preaching to the converted but futsal's no different from 11-a-side in one very important manner - if you don't actually get kids out there playing the game it's not going to get very far. That's the #1 problem for Scottish football's future on the field, irrespective of what size field it is.
